People keep trying to race me...

That's scary. Around here, you don't know who's carrying so you have to be careful. On our drive Saturday, we passed by guys like this (notice the shotgun next to his hip):

I have been driving the car around for a couple of weeks now, and am noticing all kinds of cars driving pretty aggressively (changing lanes a lot) to catch up to me, pull up alongside me, wait a few seconds and then speed away...

First it was kids in Evos and 3 series, then as I got more confident in the car and started driving it a bit harder it was guys in M3s and Audis, not to mention the little VW hatchbacks and the one rebadged RSX with purple wheels...

It's like they want to get a ticket, lose their license, or possibly kill someone. And for what, I wondered? So you can tell your friends that you smoked an NSX in your possibly faster but definitely uglier car?

But then, in a random google search, I found this:

Explains it all, doesn't it? There is a section just for "kill stories". Because apparently, pulling away from someone on the highway (at illegally high speeds) who may or may not have even been trying is a "kill".

Note that I am not above the "dreams" that people occasionally have around here, but this is in RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC on the highway. Not exactly the "open road".

I drive my NSX and rarely if ever does anyone care or try to race me. Most people ignore me and the few that do look over just give me a nice thumbs up whether it's a ricer or fixed up Corvette.

Where the heck are you driving? Here in CA I think people have seen everything so few people care if they see an NSX. On any given day I'll see a handful of F-cars' and even ran into a Veyron a few times now.

Nothing but respect on the road! I get more racers when I drive my s2000 but that might be cuz they hear the whine of my blower....:wink:

Street Racing can mean car impound, license suspension etc. Nothing is worth that. How embarrassing would it be when your car gets towed to the impound and they scrape the hell out of it because you decided to have a pointless "who has the biggest d!ck" fight with a civic or 911.

I tried to race a z06 tonight but they didn't bite... Think they heard my bov.

Some ppls I found out just want to race to see how fast the nsx is, how it sounds ect. Most of the time I'll race (not gona hide it, it's not a sin) if the car/driver is cool. Just a pull, not weaving in and out. Like a 458 Italia, he smoked mexi lazy so I pulled up next to him and I'll just say after just second to third gear, his Ferrari wasn't that impressive. For all the civics, mustangs, ect, I'll just step on the gas long enough to create the pssshhhh sound. Like I said, it's the people that can never keep up that are really annoying....I wish les (lmr) would just give it up already

Cali and Washington hwys (washington town and cali town I lived in were different stories) I never had any problems. When I moved back to Texas no matter where I was someone tried to raced me. On Monday I was just cruising along at hwy speeds and a new 5.0 kept trying to race me. Finally I saw he had a female passenger, which always seems to be the case for the more aggressive dummies.

Driving my car around, i almost never get challenged to a race. Probably because my car looks like itll smoke just about anybody.

The most i usually get is just somebody staring at me.

Lollll. I meant to say that from the driver's perspective I don't think he was thinking the NSX was that fast. I was implying not that the Ferrari wasn't impressive but that the driver of the Ferrari felt like he was going to annihilate me...... Which he didn't. ironically enough I too would love to own a white Ferrari. I see you already have a trend for the white cars don't you sadly, while one day you may be able to buy that white Ferrari 458 Italia, the most I will probably ever be able to afford is the 430.........used, much used lol.

Don't think anyone has tried to race me before. Have had a lot of people driving fast to catch up and look at the car. The car is rare in TN so i don't think most people know what it is.
