People keep trying to race me...

The last couple of weekends I have taken the NSX out on a Friday or Saturday night just to do a 'need to clear my head' cruise....which is me just driving at around the speed limit. Well, it seems that every goofball under the sun thinks that if I am driving the speed limit that I must race them. I try ignoring. I try politely waving. I try changing lanes and slowing down. Nothing works. The morons just match speed and sit either in my blind spot or along side me for MILES at a time. It is unbelievable. All I want to do is just drive and be left alone. My wife says that I picked the wrong car to be left alone in.

Damn, I wonder how many NSXers work at Google or Facebook. I'm glad my Apple product purchases are going toward funding your NSXs.

Also, I find it hilarious that people still want to race NSXs, and they act all superior if their modern cars win against a 20+ year old design. It proves how timeless the NSX is.

oh.....sorry
No worries, I like to call it New Jersey-by-the-bay

We're actually up in the hills with a gorgeous 3 bridge panoramic bay/city view.
Or as I prefer to say: the balcony of da hood

haha....I figured you were up in the hills. Some very nice areas and views up there.

We really appreciate your patronage, but always remember to keep upgrading... Resistance is futile...

mostly because I reeeeeealy 'need' a stroker...

i was driving my stock looking GTI when a Subaru with a loud exhaust flew by me and chased down a modded looking NSX and the NSX bit... they raced and i chased to watch, seems i was faster than both as i had to keep letting off the gas to not pass them. lol. the race itself was actually pretty even. moral of the story is they're both slow and shouldn't race.

my GTI is a daily driver and i needed more pep to feel sane, but i had no intention of racing people and it made their cars look like a joke. that NSX was likely stock aside from the body kit and wheels and the WRX had little more than wheels and a loud exhaust. that said, my NSX would be faster... but still i wont be racing anybody.

when i was younger, i never felt the need to do it either because i had a fast car and went racing every weekend at Willow Springs Raceway, but i did feel the need to destroy the egos of rich guys in Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Porsche's revving on my modded car (that cost only $24k new) and laughing at me. destroying them was great fun, but getting a ticket is not. potentially losing my car is not worth it. keep that in mind...

Can't speak for FB but when I have visited the GOOG campus I have not seen any interesting cars around. Well, unless you consider a self-driving Prius "interesting" ;-)

FB has one blue only in Willow Road Menlo.

this is just a natural occurence if you own an NSX. i get people wanting to race me all the time. i just ignore them. im at the age(27) now that saying i beat that guy doesnt really matter to me anymore.

I get this often and really is annoying.
This Sunday last, I pulled out of a bridge toll into the plaza and a fellow in a M3 behind me pulled around me roaring so he could pass and be ahead to merge onto the bridge. He had to show me.

I use to have a tape of clarinet Polkas and if I was challenged at a light, would pop it in, crank it up all the way, turn, say nothing, just smile and nod my head to the oompah oompah beat. Mouths would drop and they always backed off.
Really funny. Gotta find that tape again.

A few weeks ago some clown in a G35 coupe pulled beside me. We were going around 35mph (speed limit on the road we were on). He mashed the gas and pulled in front of me and slowed down for me to catch up. So I mashed the gas and right when I got beside him, I let off the and all him and his passenger heard was my blow off valve. Needless to say, they stopped fucking with me after that. I kept it moving at the posted speed limit and he stayed behind me and wouldnt pass or even catch up to ride along side me. It's great having power to compete with the faster cars on the road, but in situations like that, I find it more of a waste of time, effort and fuel to even bother racing something I know I would destroy. Sometimes though, you need to show them who's boss, without being too reckless.

Clarinet polkas... Can't even imagine what that sounds like! I need something like that.

when i blew off on someone in my 10 sec 1/4 mile subaru, they wanted to race me even more.

Maybe too much carbonation? That guy's NSX sound phat but he's waisting his time trolling for M3's on the intertstate. If that thing is all that, it really needs to 'breathe' on a proper road course.

This car now has a new owner and almost 1000 horsepower.

Oh, and be careful guys...

Many years ago, one of those newer Mustang came up to my friend on the freeway, and wanted to race... My friend passed him and then let him go afterward. He made an exit and he happened to be going to the same exit behind him. He stopped in the middle of the exit! My friend stopped behind him. The passenger came out with a handgun on his side and said "you want to play?" Of course, My friend said "it's cool man..." He got into his car and jammed.

After that incident, my friend doesn't race anyone on the street anymore. He regret it so much. It's not worth it. He didn't even start it, but who knows what a sore loser can do to you with a temper.

That's scary. Around here, you don't know who's carrying so you have to be careful. On our drive Saturday, we passed by guys like this (notice the shotgun next to his hip):
