Oxygen Sensor Problem

Going to tackle this tonight. What is pre cat and post cat? Or does anyone have a picture of Bank 1 Sensor 2? Sorry for the dumb questions.

Not a dumb question.
The answer is readily available.
Have you downloaded the free shop manual in the Wiki?
Have you gone to the Delray online parts fiche to get part numbers and diagrams?
If you do the above you will find your answers.

This sensor is located on the output side of the rear catalyst(it actually screws into the catalyst). The rear catalyst is the one that goes from right to left, not front to back. A service manual would come in very handy;).....

Got it! Larry, I owe you a beer! I'll bring a six pack of your favorite when I bring the car in for service!

Primers, as a forum member I feel the need to do everyone here a favor and advise you to NOT purchase O2 sensor 234-4094 if you have a P0141 CEL bank 1 sensor 2 error code. As I learned today, part # 234-4094 is an INCORRECT part # as stated by 996garage and Moisted. I changed my post cat O2 sensors today (both) for a little over $100. The CORRECT Denso O2 sensor part numbers are 234-4621 and 234-4093. If you purchase 234-4094, it IS TOO SHORT and is the wrong part number. Why oxygensensors.com states 234-4094 is the right part # for bank 1 sensor 2 is beyond me. Anyway, if you get this error code, please refer to this post for clarification. Furthermore, for a little over $100, you can replace BOTH post cat sensors with Denso's and have piece of mind. Trust me on this. If necessary, I will post the receipt for verification later on tonight.

Just an FYI, I have tried all day to get to oxygensensors.com and tried phoning them. I was going to let them know about the mistake in their listing for this. No answer, no website access. May have to find a new source for these, same as the window regulators;)......

Folks,

I finally got a hold of oxygensensors.com. It does appear they had this 02sensor incorrectly listed in their parts listing. I explained about the wire length being incorrect and they understood and will be updating the item number ASAP. There is one with a lead about 7" longer which sounds like that is the correct one. Once I verify the listing is correct I will follow up and let you know.

Regards,
LarryB

Does anyone have a new source for O2 sensors? Looks like oxygensensors.com went out of business :/ I've purchased from them in the past and looking for a new place to turn to. They had great pricing so looking for something similar.

Rock Auto (http://www.rockauto.com) has Denso & NTK O2 sensors (and lots of other brands) for the NSX. I've gotten parts for all my cars from them. Good prices, good return policy, and generally fast.

And, as captngaryr said, if you know the part number, Amazon or E-bay can be a good source.

When the heater part of my O2 sensors failed (at around 50 kmi), they were under Acura warranty. If I knew what brand it was, I would not buy that brand again.

My local place keeps the Denso's in stock all day long. Please refer to my above post for the correct part numbers for the sensors you are looking for.

P0155.02 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0141.02 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

Bank 1 = Rear (cylinder 1-3)
Bank 2 = Front (cylinder 4-6)

Sensor 1 = Primany, before cat
Sensor 2 = Secondary, after cat

HTH,
LarryB
what I needed, thanks

does anyone have a diagram or photo showing where the following is located?

O2 Sensor - P0155 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
front primary b4 cat

Front HO2S Heater P0155
Front Primary HO2S Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

Subscribed for answer to above question.

Is this what you need dlynes and 06_typeS?

yes i'll be sure to save this. great information! I actually installed mine and did a write up after not finding it in the owner's manual but I clearly overlooked it. thanks again!

We've only a few NA2 here in Switzerland but some of them also get problems with the 02 heater circuit. One car (97, 60k miles) has thrown P0155, replaced the o2-sensor but still gets P0155 with MIL and TCS lights still ON. I remember some other guy replaced the ECU. Any ideas?

Check the wiring connector. Make sure all the male pins are tight in the plastic housing. I have seen these back out, and cause a disconnect.

Thanks, Larry, we are a step further. We could not pull the codes with a ScanGauge/adapter (Europe cars have 3-pin blue connector) but the blue 2-pin was also there. 4-1 was the code. We've checked the heater of both primary o2-sensors. While the one on the rear bank showed 14 Ohm, the front one was not present. So the code correlates with the error code. The funny thing is that they've changed the primary o2-sensor a few weeks ago and were not able to erase the code. The owner pointed at the area they've been working on and that was clearly the rear bank. Guess what? :)
