Just got back from Buttonwillow (day 4) and Thunderhill (day 5) helping friends (fellow NSX-ers) and watching the competition up close.
As you all know, we have 2 NSX and a few NSX owners that decide to compete using other cars.
Doug with team modified currently tied in 2nd overall, but they had car problem on second half of Buttonwillow day which continue to Thunderhill.
Greg Hardee/Mark Allan, was down in overall ranking, but they try to make up ground by posting a great lap time in Thunderhill.
The most exciting competitions are in touring 4. This class are very closely matched (time wise). A few NSX owners who compete in T4:
Nitzan Wilnai and Matt Haas is currently tie with a mini cooper S driven by an excellent driver for the first place, running a 2nd generation RX7. I'm amazed that the car still runs
Eddie Lee and Telly Chang who campaigned a pretty much stock 94 Mazda miata R are posting a very impressive times and constantly improving through the 2nd half of the competition, snatching the top honor in Thunderhill!
Eddie Nakato (Edo on this board), and Mike Wann with the Turbo flying miata are trying hard to keep up. I guess the turbo is not enough to make up for the lack of talent
I am thoroughly dissapointed didn't get to compete in the competition this year. I'm setting my calendar and my schedule around to make sure I will compete next year!! Definitely a fun event!
