Oil drain plug spinning but not coming out

Are you sure about that? Before I installed my Fumoto I measured the thread depth using a factory crush washer and it was just a tad shorter than the threads in the oil pan. Unless of course I made a mistake.

Unless I've got a mutant oil pan it sticks into the pan a tad. The crappy pic makes it hard to see - but it's not recessed. It sticks out probably at least 1/8in. But I suppose you could be the one with a mutant pan too.

Did you use the soft blue washer supplied with the Fumoto or a factory crush washer? I used the latter.

I used the factory crush washer too - per your suggestion I think.

Since your pan was off the car then you definitely had the opportunity to actually see what was going on. I measured the thicknes of the thresds in the pan from underneath the car using a toothpick and flashlight. :)

My pan will be off soon for a new gasket so I'll see what's going on in there. I suppose even with the small lip it's no big deal since no oil change is going to get every drop anyway. Changing the oil and filter at 3000 mile intervals lessens the effect even more.
