O2 Sensor Removal - Help

Heat the sensor and the manifold and it will come right out. Propane or map gas torch is fine just take your time and let it get good and hot.

Once again, Prime saved the day (and my aching back). After lifting my car on jack stands, I was ready to remove and replace both O2 sensors on my 1991. I bought the NGKs from Sparkplugs.com, also recommended on Prime. After 97,000 miles, I knew they were going to be difficult to remove. After my second attempt with a 22mm crescent wrench and a 5 lb. sledge hammer, it was time to consult the Prime "genie". Brian's suggestion to heat the old sensor and a few more mighty blows with my sledge hammer finally did the trick. Thanks again to Briank.

Upon removing the old ones and comparing them to the NGKs, I found the OEM rear to be shorter than the front sensor by about 5" or so. Identical part however, as already mentioned by others on this thread. So, a doable DIY job for $120. Next project, the dreaded fuel filter.
