Nsxpo 2008

Hopefully, Dave's announcement above regarding the event schedule (Thursday evening 9/11 through Sunday 9/14 for the social stuff, with the track event the following two days) should be sufficient information to permit people to make those arrangements.

How sweet! My birthday. What a better way to spend it than on the track!
Wife can't say no to this one!

Later,
Don

Hey everyone!

We have our final budget meeting May 7th, should have cost nailed down by then, we have been a little slow to get this pulled together as we finalize sponsorship. Cost for everything keep going up, even food, so we are trying to capture all the costs and not get surprised!

Current food:
BBQ at the Kart track, nice and down home style...

Banquet, looks like it will be a choice of Wild Salmon or Organic Oregon Fillet, food is fantastic at the Crowne Plaza!

Track event at Pacific Raceways:
There will not be options to pay for only one day at the track, drivers can choose to drive less than the whole schedule, but we have to rent the track for both day no matter how many folks are using it.

MMM BBQ don't forget the cobbler !!!!!!

Yup, full day at work time wise...

I'm planning on buying an NSX before then but if I don't: anyone have a seat free and could use some gas/etc. money and is in the SF bay area?

Mj man please come to xpo,you know how much $$$$ the club could make from just the simple combo of you, a dunk tank, and a few baseballs.

+250:rolleyes: One for each dollar that MJ gladly accepted from me without ever delivering a product...

The details regarding the hotel and signing up for the event, including prices, will be announced in early summer, in plenty of time to reserve your hotel room and sign up for the event!
Early summer eh, so that means 16 days until questions about details start rolling in again.

I'm sure it would pay for the next 40 issues of NSXDRIVER.

But I had a bath already this year.

Now if we make the NSX Driver an e-mail option - or website accessed by NSXCA members only, think how much more $$$$ the club would make from having MJ in the dunk tank

But I guess MJ's real excuse is an equally convincing math bath or no bath - soap optional

I am not trying to bug anyone, but those dates posted above, are those the official dates?. I need to put my notice in for vacation. We haven't heard much so I want to make sure nothing has changed.
Thanks a bunch

Dave, for those of us who are slow on the pick-up (both figuratively and literally lol!), how far is the track from HQ in terms of miles/travel time? And those attending the track on 9/15, will they be staying near the track for overnight for the next day or heading back to HQ?

We will re-locate Sunday afternoon/evening to a hotel closer to the track, like we did for Florida and Ohio. The track is about 2 hours away from Portland, most likely we will do a rolling caravan from Evergreen Museum up to Kent. This can be a pretty mountain drive, or the 'I-5 cruise' depending on what people want. We are still on the detail planning stage for the transfer.

$900.00?? Humm...., you might break even given the gas prices. LOL   J/K:tongue:

On a serious note, be sure to check radiator hoses. I'm starting to see people experiencing busted hoses. Of course, if you have a garage queen with under 40K miles or less, no worries.

The social event is in portland OR track event is in Washington?

Which is about 170 miles apart approx 2.5-3 hour drive. It's pretty much a straight drive up I-5. Through Oregon speed limit is 55 once into washington I believe it goes up to 70. Would it have made more sense to hold the entire thing in Washington?

I guess you pick up the Oregon people who might not have gone otherwise.

hmmm.....I may show up for the social event but might have to skip the track day.

Would have made more sense to not have Phillip Morris get a 10 day block of track dates in Portland, making it so PIR is not available till mid October to rent...being from Portland, you know what that means...rain!

Portland has so much to offer, the track event is either a 2+ hour drive up I-5, or a pretty mountain cruise, either way, an easy trip! Pacific Raceways is really fun track too!

Hope you decide to do it all!

Is NSXpo ALL inclusive?

You know Hotel, Food, Rental Car W/Driver, Transportation (on drinking and strip club nights), Track Days, Pit Crew, Gas, Tires, Brake Pads, and Shad if somebody needs something fixed (better add an 18 wheeler full of NSX parts)

BTW: Tent for Trackside "DEEP RELAXATION" massage W/happy ending OPTIONAL for the Married Guys? Sounds like a good idea

I read the "excuse" link and the numbers presented don't look like they work. It would still be great to have Mark show up just to meet him in person like we do with so many of the other folks we know only over the Internet. He's generously contributed more than his fair share in the past and it's certainly understandable if it is not a good business return. He could just come as a attendee like the rest that expect nothing other than a good time. There are so many that would love to meet MJ in person. I know I would.
