Nsxpo 05 & 06'??

If you keep waiting for NSXPO to come to you...you may have along wait. Make plans today to attend NSXPO 2005. Do you realize that you have missed two of the largest NSXPO's, 2003 and 2004. There's no guarantee that the Southeast will hold NSXPO 2006. Don't sit on the side lines...become active in your Region. Be a player not a poser...MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.
This along with other posts are very discouraging and disappointing to me who unfortunaely living in the NW. For Last week monthly meeting, I asked for day off just for that and got that and found out ZERO nsx showed up. If I don't get the chance going to nsxpo'05, I might seriously thinking of moving to some better place... I hate Seattle!! (hmmm, maybe the rain got me a little upset )

Keep in mind that most of the planning committees that put together winning bids for NSXPO did so after holding several local NSX Club events. This gave the committee members the chance to make friends and also to gain some experience holding events.

Also keep in mind that there are many members of the NSX Club of America who do not follow NSXprime, but might be interested in attending local club events. If an event is held as an NSX Club event, rather than a gathering of NSXprime members, then the club members in the area can be notified in advance. Another difference between NSX Club events and NSXprime gatherings is that each region/chapter of the NSX Club has funds available for its events. These can be used to pay for dinner for a guest speaker, and/or to subsidize a portion of lunch/dinner for the attendees, or for any other purpose for the event.

You only need one person to decide to organize an event and make all the arrangements. Of course, there is no guarantee that a lot of people will show up, even if all club members in the area are notified. But you can't be sure until you try it.

There are currently 16 club members in the state of Washington, a little over half of whom are in the Seattle area.

Lots of cars, tons of fun.

I've been to three of the NSXPOs without my car. I had a GREAT time! As I noted previously, you can take part in all of the event activities except for driving on the track. You can even get a ride on the track with one of the instructors.

Road America could indeed be the host again in 2006 if there are enough motivated people to get a package together to submit.
Steven, you are nominated!

What about Tulsa in '06? :p Don't laugh just yet.

There are several owners in T-town. I would offer to help anyway I can, but live a few hours away.

Some of the planning committee members can be from a distance away; they don't all need to be local. There's plenty of work to do, and some of it can be organized remotely. But you need a few local folks at least, enough to check out local venues as needed, etc.

Furthermore, NSXPO experienced folks can help. For example, I'm sure the folks who put on NSXPO 2002 in DFW would be a big plus to have on the committee.

Shawn, if you're considering organizing a committee, go for it!

Hey buddy, St. Louie isn't that far away and you're a good draft candidate. But never fear, there a few owners here that would be helpful.

It's definitely a consideration but I'm a little constrained by the ETA of Tulsa Raceway Park (road course, drag strip, autocross). No one knows when it's going to be open (as of this minute) and it'd be difficult to make plans when such an important part of the event is in limbo. Particularly if it's supposed to be successful. But as soon as I know a date, I'll gather local owners and start the process.

Thanks Ken, appreciate the encouragement.

I all seriousness, I would lend a hand. I'd like to see it somewhere closer, and Tulsa or Road America is about as close as it might get. Personally, I don't think I will attend one without my car again, and I just don't forsee taking it to somewhere far away.

I would be more than willing to help out if it came back to RA.

If indeed a return to RA is in the works, I could help out a great deal, being only 45 min away from RA. I also can instruct, and/or help with event organization. Steve and I could do a lot as a team, along with Ryan and crew from Milwaukee. I would see if I could get a Carrera GT to stop by for viewing as well!!!

PS the Ostoff just added on another huge wing, that should be completed within the next 6 months. We also have a AAA 5 diamond hotel less than 30 min away. http://www.destinationkohler.com/tac/tac.html

We also have King Motorsports, RTR, AOB, within a hour. There is a 1/4 mile drag strip 45 min away, that we could hit, as well as the Fox Cities (350k pop.) 45 min away, as well as Madison and Milwaukee around an hour. There is Door County and the Lake Michigan lake shore within 30 mins. and lake Winnebago the other way 30 min. Not to mention some great Kettle Moraine back roads. Also we have 4 great PGA golf courses right on Lake Michigan within 30 min or so. http://www.destinationkohler.com/bwr/bwr.html

It said in an earlier post that the Oct. 6-11 date for the 2005 NSXPO could possibly be firmed up by JGTC racetime. Has anyone heard what the final dates would be for 2005?? Many people have to plan their vacation times at the first of the year, and I think it would help attendance if their were definite dates. Also, do people usually get rooms at a particular hotel too, so were close to events and such?? If so, that info would be great too. Thanks

Each NSXPO has a "host hotel" where most, if not all, of the attendees stay. A group rate is obtained and the hotel will hold a block of rooms for us. More details will be posted shortly.

Road America 2006 sounds good to me.

Does anybody know the deadline for putting in a bid for 2006?

It hasn't been announced yet.

I know that a lot of the folks from the Southeast have been attending the past few NSXPOs and are excited about the prospect of holding NSXPO 2006 in their region, possibly at Sebring or at Barber. They haven't hosted NSXPO since 2000, the year before it was held at Road America.

I'd like to consider using more than one track the next time the Midwest Region hosts NSXPO. We have so many tracks, it would be nice to show them off in this way. Think of the possibilities - we could combine a day or two at Road America, plus a day at Autobahn Country Club; or, a day or two at Mid-Ohio, plus a day at Nelson Ledges; etc. Offering the track nuts a chance to drive two tracks is a real attraction, IMO.

I'd be interrested in mid-O I have seen it so often whatching the runnoffs,I'd like to give "madness" a whirl!

I went to 01' @ Road America. It was worth it just to see that many NSX's in one place, not to mention quality time with my Dad. (This is the best Father/Son event ever concieved)
NSXPO is an extremely unique event. I have attended several import shows in the past years, but none holds a candle to NSXPO.
The club members I met, (the Prime posters I finally put faces to) the cars I saw, shop talk at RealTimeRacing next to the RTR NSX, and Integra Type R, not to mention David Hobbs speaking at dinner, or the technical seminars.
Those Wisconsinites were breaking their necks when 70+ NSX's went by in a line.
Loved it, looking forward to 05' when Dad and I pile into the X for yet another road trip, this time from Houston to Phoenix.
BTW, getting there is 1/2 the fun. I highly recommend joining a caravan if you can.
For Gods sakes GO!
