I have heard word from my friend scott that there is a clean NSX in the dallas area with 120K miles on it.

I am curious, What are the disadvantages of owning a car with that many miles? Would it scare a lot of you off?

What about maintence? The FAQ only goes to 90K.. what happens at 120?? How do I know when to change something etc...

What would you pay for a car with that many miles? She was "asking" 29.. which is WAY high for those miles. I have seen cars with that many miles go for under 25.

You don't need to do any maintenance after 90K.

Just kidding, just kidding.

There are a number of items that get done at 30K miles. These services need to get done every 30K miles.

There are a whole lot more items that get done at 60K miles (including all of those that get done at 30K miles). These services need to get done every 60K miles.

And there is the timing belt/water pump that gets done at 90K miles. This needs to be done every 90K miles.

So a 120K mile service or a 240K mile service is the same as a 60K service. A 150K mile service or a 210K mile service is the same as a 30K service. And a 180K mile service is the same as a 60K service PLUS the timing belt/water pump. This way, everything that needs to be done every so many miles, gets done every so many miles.

Also, the service you do at 45K miles and 75K miles should also be done at 105K miles, 135K miles, 165K miles, etc.

If you don't drive 15K miles per year, you will need to follow the same intervals but based on time (one year instead of each 15K miles).

I bought my '91 last year with 103K miles. The previous owner's mechanic (whom I called) said it was "tighter" than a lot of new cars he works on (He had just done the 120k service with a new clutch). I think the general condition of the car is probably more important than actual number of miles.

What year was it? That price seems high for '91 but maybe not a '92, and about right for a '93 (but ICBW).
