I picked up the January issue of CAR at the airport, and it's full of good stuff about NSX and Honda. There's an article about the new NSX, and one titled "17 Reasons to love Honda". Definitely worth a read...

17 reasons to love Honda:

1. Because Soichiro was a tinkerer; he was like a bloke in a shed, who just loved engines
2. Because of Senna; Honda is an integral part of Senna legend
3. Because it makes Robots; Asimo say no more
4. Because we all love Vtec engines; You have to wring their neck. It's the law
5. Because Button's title-winning Brawn F1 car was a Honda in disguise
6. Because Honda builds planes; Having first re-invented them, naturally...
7. Because the NSX rewrote the supercar rulebook
8. Because it's still independent; And you can tell
9. Because their adverts are genius; They make even dull cars cool
10. Because half the Indy car fields run Honda V8
11. Because Type Rs are mental; They're guilty pleasure
12. Because it entered F1 with a ballsy V12; After only a single year of road-car production
13. because the Civic's styling is nuts
14. Because there's something beautiful about a four-stroke garden engine
15. Because its first production car was a roadster
16. Because they're going back to F1 in 2015.

Wait for it........

Because the Fireblade produces 175bhp per litre; And it only weighs 200kg

The article on the New NSX states "The mid-mounted V6 will be a heavily modified version of an existing Honda engine, most commonly used in American Acuras." "..the rangy direct-injection VTEC V6 - boosted by twin turbochargers.." The powertrain they show looks more like a 90 degree V6, I don't know of any Honda or Acura that uses a 90 degree V6. Maybe that is part of the "heavily modified".

I still can't wait to see the new car, my Acura dealer has stopped taking orders.

One fascinated thing I didn't know was this about the Honda Jet: "Machimasa Fujino, proudly reveals that if you move the engines 4 inches to the left or right, the plane won't fly. He's the guy who discovered this aerodynamic sweet spot, and now he's the CEO of Hondajet."
