I recently flew from California to New York to pick up my 1991 NSX from seller (4DaFans) this weekend of 5/30/24. I was luckily enough to message the seller just 23 mins after it was posted for sale. The seller was super nice and even picked me and my co-pilot up from JFK airport in his 2018 civic type R. The car was everything as shown in the for sale ad, I couldn't be happier! He included a bunch of parts for the car and even included a full tank of gas.

My cousin and I drove the car from Freeport NY back to Cincinnati Ohio. We were expecting to be home by midnight but with so much traffic and stops we ended up getting back around 4am. We definitely got a lot of attention on the road. People were giving us thumbs up, shouting "nice car!" on the road, and it was just like being photographed by paparazzi's everywhere. The car is getting some minor maintenance done and will eventually be shipped to California.

Attached are some photos from the sellers house, around New York and Times Square, and finally to Cincinnati. My cousin willingly agreed to babysit two of my cars until I can get them shipped home. I've decided to name my NSX, Natasha. She's pictured with Michelle, a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 I picked up just the month before to begin my small collection of JDM cars.

Looks great, and a great way to start any purchase is with a road trip imo. Really makes you bond with the car much faster. What were your thoughts about it on a road trip? When I took my pick-up trip I found it to be a super comfortable long distance driver.

I think as far as manual sports cars go, the NSX is a great choice for a road trip. The clutch is light enough where your left foot doesn't get mad at you in stop an go traffic. The stock suspension is very comfy and takes all the bumps and surfaces well. Visibility is good, seats provide good support, and we filled gas about every 300 miles. Even after finishing the 657 miles drive, I just wanted to drive some more.

welcome, that VR4 is a complicated vehicle...and the engine compartment is tight..

ohh wow that great trip. I am in merrick next town over from Freeport would have loved to meet up and have to admit taking Natasha into the city quite adventurous as the roads are terrible and city is disaster these days with bikes and illegal scooters. glad yo made it safely and enjoy both new cars

I agree. You drive it hoping the active rear wing doesn't deploy on its own, that the active exhaust doesn't get stuck, and the active suspension stays in one setting. Back in high school my first car was a N/A 3000GT so it was always a dream to have a VR4, especially the 94+ with the 6 speed and 4 bolt motor. I think the engine bay in the VR4 is just as tight as my Z32 TT. Luckily for my own good I don't wrench on my own cars, I always end up with extra nuts/bolts on everything I take off and put back on...

There were definitely some good parts with bends and curves that helped keep us awake. The seller did mention that if I ever sold it to let him know. So you never know, maybe one day this beauty will end up back in Freeport with a new last name. Although I can't ever imagine parting with this car unless it was for a 97-01 NSX. I've always wanted to drive a 3.2 with the 6sp. On our adventure we did hit one or two unexpected pot holes but thank goodness the wheels and tires were unaffected. We did hit a blown tire from a semi truck on the highway that took the front lip off. Luckily the seller provided us with a new one that we kept in the car, it's almost as if he knew!
