NSX Est Fest! May 16-18 2008

We also speak French well hence the name:

L'Organization d'equipe de toute choses a la Nouveau Sportif Experimental D'Acura Festivalle d'Est Ontario Tabernaque.

Or : the NSX Club of Canada presents "NSX Est Fest" so that even people from New Jersey would know what the hell we are talking about.

tamoski withdrawl!!!

i am amazed how well you canadians speak and
spell utilizing the english language....
is the gathering misnamed, or should it be..
nsx ehhhhh fest??

OK, for starts, its spelled withdrawal

"withdrawl" is either what accompanies a Southern Mail Order Bride, or Bush's preferred method of avoiding unwanted pregnancy!

Now as far as our actual spelling goes, we follow the British spelling so we specialise in recongising "s"s instead of "z"s and we honour those who do.

Now, that said, it was the British who invented English, after all - Snoop Dog just tried to turn it into a high art - For Shizzle, Dizzle!

We fully admit to the allusions of professional alcohol consumption!

Whatever you wimpy canadians do you better provide copius hotties for my man RSO 34!

Once we combine Bob's American tolerance for alcohol with Canadian wiskey and beer, the hotties will only need to be a 4/10 plus a 6 pack!

I'll bet your tax bill was more merciful than mine! We have a beautiful country because we all pay out the ass for it!

Guess what canucks - I don't drink. Just ask my fellow American Northeasterners about how they always rely upon me to be the designated decoy for outings..........

No worries - pot is just about legal here too - we can adapt to satisfy you needs!

What was that?? I couldn't hear you because of all of the Olympic Gold medals, World cup medals, and Stanley Cup MVP awards clanging around up here!

I am looking forward to this event and am quite exited as this will be my first NSX event with my car. I just checked the long range forcast and except for the drive up day on Friday, they, are predicting rain for the whole weekend. I understand that they may not be that accurate anyway this far out but I am just curious as to what are the contingency plans? Show and shine ought to be interesting in the rain, no? :frown:

Do all the events go off as scheduled? Is the BBQ then brought indoors or into a tent, where it is supposed to be between 40 and 50 degrees F? To bring the out door cover or not? If it is always raining, might it not be better to just let it rain on the car than trying to pack a wet cover in the trunk?

These are Newbie quetions I know, so please be gentle to this virgin.

Thanks in advance and I'll see y'all there rain or shine I guess.

Great News!!!! I just got off the phone with Honda in Japan!!!!!!

They say the NSX is SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED for these contingencies!!!!

They said they actually made the car out of Aluminum - which they CLAIM doesn't rust!!!

Leaving your car out in the rain does NOT void the warranty - I asked for something in writing, I don't know why they laughed, but they said "sure, they'll get RIGHT on it!"

What an AMAZING CAR - Truly not like other machines!

Seriously, if it rains, we'll change things up a bit and it will probably result in an increase in the consumption of Alcohol so bring your bigger bladder!

Tomorrow's weather forecast accuracy is shaky at best so I wouldn't be too worried about the 8 days in advance's forecast. They claimed it would rain yesterday and it rained at night not during the day, just like it was supposed to rain at the BMW Club track day (Thundershowers) and it was gorgeous weather.

Don't bother with your car cover, the car will get dirty on the drive to Est Fest, and a bit of clean rain won't hurt the paint - or the Aluminum! But a wet car cover is insane to pack away.

We have contingency plans.

Secret plans.

Plans with contingencies built into the planning process if you will.

Not to worry. At XPO 04 when it rained guys just put some soap on their cars and washed them for free!!!

Est Fest starts TOMORROW!!!!

We are really excited to see everyone there!

If for any reason you haven't received your Event Package by email, let me know. Updated schedules will be available at check in.

See you there!!!!!

Wow... 6-0 in gave 5... that's worse than the Sens :-)
ya, i know. but they did not fold 4-0 in the first round...
enjoy your flyers microfiber cry towels!
thanx all for the most excellent time this weekend!!

Thanks to everyone for coming. Everyone was so appreciative.

I want to make a special thank-you to:

Bram - for organizing sponsorship and getting more prizes than we could give away!

Stu - for helping with the logistics and taking care of the accounting at the end which is such a PITA.

Dave - for running the Show and Shine when I couldn't be there. I think we have to do show and shines away from headquarters hotels for now on. This one was so much fun because everyone just hung out and admired each other's beautiful cars for a couple of hours rather than hiding in their rooms.

Joe, Larry & Robert - for their great tech sessions. Everyone was blown away by the collective knowledge, and I know that their shops will be busy this week.

Derrick Hanson - for a great driving dynamics session. Everyone there took piles of notes and I don't remember any other time where everyone spoke so passionately about driving and NSXs in general.

Paul Henault - for not only organizing the cruise but for judging the show and shine. He did so much work, and doesn't own an NSX yet, but now we all know he will. And much sooner than he originally thought!!! Better buy it before September 2009 Paul!

A special thanks to Becky for helping out so much this weekend. She was my right hand "man" and did so much behind the scenes.

I sent out the two articles Derrick Hanson gave us in the driving dynamics workshop by email today, but many of your email accounts bounced it back due to the file size. Please let me know if there's another email account I should send it to.
