Three car accident claims woman's life.

According to state police, the accident happened around 9 a.m. when the driver of a Dodge Caravan, heading south on Route 3, lost control and slammed through the median strip and hit a 2002 Acura NSX. The impact caused the driver of the Acura to lose control and hit a 2001 Honda Civic, they said.. The driver of the Acura died at the scene.

oh dear... that is really tragic. :( Whether it's an NSX or not, there's a family grieving right now. :(

True, and upon reading my query, it did appear I was ignoring that most important fact, which was not the intention of my post. My apologies.

This just shows that this can happen to anyone at anytime.

OMG. Terrible and tragic. Prayers go out to all involved. I don't know if they were on Prime or not but I am sure we will know soon enough

My condolences to the family :frown:

Sorry Shumdit... no need to apologize as I wasn't responding to your post directly. (everyone is so on edge at the moment, i feel i need to clarify that. I leave flame wars to the professionals :p ). Like you, I can't help but wonder if it was actually a TSX/RSX.

A few months ago a red NSX like mine crashed while DWI. The news showed the rear of the car and it was an NSX. The report said the passenger died and the driver was taken to the hospital. Since the NSX was red and had rims on it, my mom, sister, dad, multiple friends, called to make sure it was not me. It wasn't, but Ive never heard anything else about it.

This particular NSX may not be known by our Prime community. Here in Houston I think we have maybe a dozen NSXs in our group but over 300 registered owners with the DMV.

Again, my thoughts are with the victims families, and I hope the survivors make a speedy recovery.

Very sad indeed...R.I.P

loNFastNSX, I think that was a Lambo Gallardo you were talking about...Stormrider and I analyzed the pic and it was a Gallardo. We really couldn't tell what it was until we looked at it for about 40 minutes.

This sucks.... just this morning I was reading a post from someone in the ne.transportation newsgroup .... I didn't know it was a fellow NSX owner involved. Here is the post (and frankly it looks like this would be great fodder for a lawsuit)

----
Several years ago, when the US Highway 3 widening (Burlington MA
to NH) was getting ready to start, I attended a meeting and asked
engineers from Modern Continental and Massachusetts Highway about
their median safety plans. The plans on paper called for a
grassy median strip in the southern area of the project, but no
barriers. They replied that the median in this stretch was wide
enough that no barrier was necessary nor required by highway
design standards, thus they could save money by not installing
one. A barrier would be installed farther north, where the two
directions of travel are located closer together.

I stated that many fatal accidents have occurred across this type
of barrier-less median strip, and having lived near such a
freeway I was quite aware of this type of accident. Even with a
dip in the median and a modest grassy median strip, this is no
match for an out of control vehicle travelling at highway speeds
toward the opposite direction lanes. I further asked how many
deaths caused by cross median accidents would be necessary before
a safety barrier was installed. There was no answer to this
question.
. . .
Today, a fatal accident occured on the newly rebuilt and widened
Highway 3. A minivan travelling southbound left the travel
lanes, crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes. A
woman who was in a sedan travelling northbound in her lane was
struck and fatally injured by the minivan.

Did any of you guys see the recent corvette accident from upstate N.Y. I think.
The guy drove into the back of a tractor trailor that was on the shoulder.
I wouldnt dare post the pictures. It was very disturbing to see.
What a shame! I guess when you # is up its up.
