My wife has been building some very profession grade calendars using some electronic publishing software.
I asked her if she would build me a new NSX calendar for 2012. Amazingly, she could do this easily and quickly.
The thought came to mind to get one done for the NSX community.
now here lies the problem. There are many great pictures on NSX Prime, but they do not belong to me to use without permission.
To go forward, people would have to send pictures for this specific purpose, in order use on a calendar.
Presently we are just throwing out ideas. One idea that came to mind, was to build a 2013 calendar to be available for NSXPO 2012. The publishing takes some time to get printed, so she wants to plan ahead as much as possible. It is kind of too late to enjoy a full 12 months of calendar for 2012. Maybe not, let me know your thoughts.
This has been done before and offered on NSX Prime, but not for a while now.

Just mud on a wall for now....

I have no problem sending you one of my full size hi-res images for publication. I'm sure Synth would be ok with sending his too. :)

since Dave is putting together an official prime hottest nsx contest maybe the calender cars get placed in thier order from the results.

Great idea Warren !! Were you thinking this would be a fund raiser for the NSXCA? .. or for some other cause? .. or what? Given that just about every photo developer can build calendars from 12 photos you give them, what did your wife do that was unique? Are you thinking of a small write-up with each picture .. maybe owner name; mods; etc .. and maybe one large exterior shot and a couple of smaller interior, exterior, or engine ones?

I doubt you'll have problems getting 12 pictures so I think docjohn's idea for selection is a good one .. either that or a random draw of submissions.

Here's a calendar another forum I'm a part of created a few years ago, the end results looked GREAT! The first image is the cover and back cover (keep in mind its folded in half and 2nd page shows the calendar as it would be opened up hanging.

I really liked the cover page, a similar designed for NSXPrime would look excellent.

Ian, you are right, any photographer can get calendars published, and in quantity, they can be very cost effective. She uses a program called Creative Memories. It produces very professional documents. She did a series of Calendars for the University of Alberta Anthropology Dept. They are not cheap to publish. A large 18X12 works out to ~$28.00 and a small 12X8.5 ~$22.00 tax and shipping in. 15% less for qty. 100 or more. The paper is heavy and print quality is excellent. They may be too high cost for a fund raiser.
I like the ideas out there. A write up is easy to add and many pictures per page isn't difficult either. The sky is the limit on design. We can even add information on specific dates. (I am not sure what that would be, Race dates??)

Great idea, what would be cool is to have a nice mix of stock/modded ones in as many of the color combos as space would allow. I'd absolutely love to have any type of NSX calendar. Just a thought---

I will have to really put in the effort to find my car with this calendar idea in the works. I wonder if that will make it tax deductible?

for the past 5 years I have been putting one together on another board and they have done well. I typically sold 50 a year

I would be interested in one and putting my car in it. You should though put together a scetch of how each month would look.

From experience they are better when you can get more cars in it. Here is an image of one of the months I did for a FullsizeChevy.com Calendar.

It also has a listing of what shows are going on that month so people in the area can go to them if interested.

Hi,

A great idea and I would be happy to see my NSX in print again.

UKDM 98 Targa in Magnum Grey Pearl. It has 02 wheels, R spoiler and Procar color matched hood, 02 valance and sills.

When would you need photo's by? Car is off road for winter maintenance at present.

regards, Paul

To me, it's not how many or how little mods, but the true professionalism and quality of the image that's needed. :)

Synth could have an entire calendar to himself!

+1 it's all about quality to me. Different periods of the car, NA1/2, Zanardi, froggies vs flip up etc...Suggest no high end professional pictures, rather great quality amateur photo's. siD
