NSX and Audi R8 Photoshoot for Magazine

VanceHu and I have been saying this for months:biggrin:

The same here in the UK ... Audi got it right with the TT for the UK market and sold a lot of them. The problem for the R8 is that is looks toooooo much like a fat TT and whats with those silly LED lights at the front? I recently parked next to a couple of R8 at a dealer and it really does make the NSX look petite. Its like the sexy little sister next to her big brother :biggrin:

The PC brigade have killed the low, sexy, tight design for sports cars, particulalry from a main stream manufacturer.

IMO this R8 is not disimilar to the problem Honda faces in trying to release a new super car. The NSX was so fresh and advanced that they have two problems ... 1) to break new ground as before and 2) to deliver another timeless design.

I like the idea that Honda will probably go with the front engine, rear (or 4WD) layout, I just hope they get it right. If they can produce a truly better car than the XK or AMV8 for similar money then I think they will be in the right space.

To try and replace the NSX would IMO be a mistake. It continues to gather respect and new fans and will be remembered as a true great.

Audi will sell a lot of R8's for sure. If I check autotrader there are currently over 35 for sale in various specs, yet only 5 NSX, 3 being autos. I cant help but think that in 12 months time the numbers will be similar for the NSX yet double or more for the R8.

Anyway, these are just my thoughts.. I would be keen to know which mag and when its available please? I guess its a US only so if someone could pick up a second copy I'd be happy to cover costs and shipping.

both cars look amazing in my opinion..black is such an awesome colour to look at but a little warm..lol and if you came from outer space youd be hard pressed to guess from those pics that the nsx was in fact 15 yrs odd older...very very timeless...ill have one of each in white thankyou...:biggrin:

I think a better question is what an NSX would like next to one of these. If the next NSX has a front-end design similar to or superior to this concept and a neat rear, it would be one of few cars that make the NSX look dated when side-by-side (not the easiest thing to do). This all assumes Honda/Acura are smart enough to make the next NSX (or whatever it's called) mid-rear-engine.

I like the R8 in a different way than the NSX. It has everything the next gen NSX should have (all aluminum, 400+hp, it does have 500lbs extra though...). The R8 is a contemporary design (rounded, high doors, short overhangs) but not a timeless design.

Seriously, how bad would the R8 look sitting next to one of these?
