NSX and Audi R8 Photoshoot for Magazine

"Besides, the pictures shown here don't really show the NSX from its best angles I think" -

I agree. I was simply trigger happy on this day and will definately be scanning and posting the magazine article because there will be different shots of both cars. I can't wait to see them!

R8 is a truck. When you sit in it - looking forward you feel much higher up in the cockpit than the low NSX. One small trunk in the front of the R8 - that's all!

You're kidding right? If someone said "I'll hand you the title to this $100k++ R8 for your NSX", you wouldn't take it?? I mean I admit the NSX looks better but you could sell that R8 and buy MULTIPLE NSX's or build the NSX of your wildest dreams

An R8 as a beater?? I don't know about that.....

Hi

Ofcourse in a sceneario like that I would take it. I would like to still have a NSX though. So my guess is that the R8 would be sold. A "new" NSX would be bought and a Lexus would be bought as a beater

There is however not a good chance that I would get a Audi R8. Here is one for sale. It is just an example. They get them from Germany. The price in Norway for a R8 is about $358.865.

I paid about $73.651 for my 91 NSX 4 years ago so the prices for cars in Norway is just crazy.

My NSX is parked for the winter while I drive a 1983 Golf I. It is nice to have the NSX sitting in the garage waiting for spring. It motivates me a lot that's for sure.

Regards

That R8 doesn't even look like a sportscar when parked next to the NSX. They really dropped the ball in terms of that car's appearance.

+1

Put your hand up to the screen and block out the back half of the R8. It looks like all of the new Audi sedans from the seats forward. Remove your hand and now block out the front half. It looks like a Nissan 350Z. Do the same for the picture of the NSX and there is no doubt it is a sports car.

$.02: The NSX has too many crisp lines and sharp angles, which makes it look dated, and the R8 is all rounded lines which makes it look like a jelly bean on wheels. However, the back end view of the R8 is AWESOME...much better than the NSX.

Going on a limb here. In the year 2022 no one will notice the R8 from a TT. The NSX will be over thirty and still get looks from the ladies.

Saw an R8 in Prague a couple months ago......sounded great. The side by side pics have me thinking the Audi looks kinda dumpy by comparison tho.

I've always find that in general, lower height cars looks more appealing and have a lasting look. Few examples are the MR2, Jaguar XJR (saloon), Lotus Esprit. They are timeless designs. It looks good and when you come up close to them... there is wow factor. The R8 does not have this and I feel the design could become dated soon.

Thank you for posting these pictures; i have spent the last five minutes studying the tripod riggs you used. I wouldn't mind more information too.

I believe

That's because you saw me washing her every day at NSXPO '05!

Can't wait to see the magazine shots of my ex-baby showing the R8 who's better looking!

That's why you slam it and throw some fat lipped wheels on there! Problem solved!

I like the R8 in a different way than the NSX. It has everything the next gen NSX should have (all aluminum, 400+hp, it does have 500lbs extra though...). The R8 is a contemporary design (rounded, high doors, short overhangs) but not a timeless design.

Seriously, how bad would the R8 look sitting next to one of these?
