That's every German car I've come in contact with. Some things are so "overengineered" for it's own sake and then other aspects are completely questionable. I guess it can be contributed to following a different engineering philosophy or cultural pov. Meh, I dunno.

If it is indeed quicker than a GT3 around the Nurburgring, I'll be completely flabergasted.
 
I don't think you can over-engineer a car that would be regularly used at a race track or on an unlimitted section of the autobahn. Some of the huge brakes and pad compounds (that make a lot of dust btw) found on German cars are only present because of the potential that they will be driven fast on their hiways.

Suspension, materials are likely over engineered for casual use, but put the car to 9/10s and I'll take all the over-engineering I can get.
