New NSX

The fact that it's a V10 makes me think that's definitely not the case. They wouldn't sell a V10 at $40-60k. A V8 maybe, but not a V10. Also keep in mind Takeo Fukui mentions the NSX when talking about this concept, and the picture of the original NSX in the background.

It's a v10??? I mean, yeah, I know there's all this talk about the V10 and the HSC, ASC, etc etc...but is this the car that's getting the V10 for sure???

If that's the case, then crap.

How can you even mention the NSX and this car in the same sentence? I mean, this is more like a modified S2000, which is great...if that's what you're looking for. F'ing idiots.

Well...all I can say is "I TOLD YOU SO!!!". That goes to all the naysayers that pretty much flamed me when I said that the NSX replacement will be a front engine design. This is the car that my classmate from Art Center designed. The first sketches (rear 3/4 view) that popped up even has is name on the tires. Shame on y'all. :D

Spinner, you'll be glad to hear that I might be the only person on prime that actually believed ya since day 1 !! :D

i think this platform is more suited for an entry level, low cost hatch back

If it looks anything like this one I would buy it. If it looks like the concept poet posted no thanks. Front engine is not NSX.

I hope someone at Honda is listening

I wonder if Honda ever goes on these forum sites... to see what the people think ?

They should Prime has to account for a good portion of there market.
Especially with low production # cars such as the NSX.
But maybe the new so-called NSX is aimed at more of a mass market then the original.

Are they going to sell this thing In Japan? I don’t see how these things will sell!

Oh no the new NSX is going to be the Japanese version of the Pontiac Aztec:tongue:

There is one thing to remember...the orginal NSX wasn't exactly a huge sales success. (now you can blame that on whatever, not updating, underpowered, etc etc) So perhaps they're trying to make something that sells more like 5 to 10,000 a year globally, versus what the NSX did. Can't blame them for that...(even though I don't agree with it).

Honda really should have outsourced the design to Pininfarina or someone like Marcello Gandini. These clowns at the design studio in LA are a joke.
My first thaught aswell....

Pininfarina would never have come up with such a bulldozer of a car. Looks like a Chrysler Crossfire on steroids. And if you need to ask, that's a bad thing!
I've never seen such a lack of identity in a car.

But sadly, the FR characteristics were surely decided long before the designers went to work and that alone would limit the car from ever becoming/looking anything close to a new NSX.:frown:

I like that photoshop above a lot.

Now...in the event that this hideous attempt at a car design should hit the showroom, we should at least hope acura advanced will change a lot of it to where it at least looks something more accepting, like this:

If they're not gonna give us MR, at LEAST make it look decent, and please don't call it NSX (NSX is MR ONLY)!

All of a sudden it actually looks like an NSX replacement.

I agree....you've got a good eye and some mad photoshop skills Nick! Quick, send in your resume to the Honda LA Design Studio

Now that's moving in the right direction! I like the proportions much better.....hopefully Honda is paying attention.

+3

If it looked like that and was a M-R layout, I would have driven to my Acura dealer the same day to put down a deposit. As it is now....

That's the pic I was looking for! I wonder if it will look more like this at the Tokyo Auto show.

I wonder what the outside visibility from inside of the car is going to be like on the ASC.

Given that long hood I doubt that it would come close to the NSX with those doors that go quite a bit up on the sides and the small greenhouse I bet it's going to feel quite claustrophobic too. (just like the 350Z and the Audi TT feels)

Furthermore it really makes you wonder if *any* of the designers of the ASC have actually driven/owned a NSX and understand what it made it so special. (That includes the current CEO of Honda as well)

If the end product is better than the original then change is good, but it seems that by choosing a FR layout for the ASC, Honda has taken a big step back when it comes down to the driving experience.

SH-AWD adds way too many nanies to babysit the driver it's apropriate for a SUV or a sedan, but not on a real sports car regardless of the so called inherent benefits.

A properly designed MR car like the F430 does perfectly fine against the likes of the Gallardo, Murcielago, 997TT on most surfaces (except snow, hehe) so it really makes you wonder if Honda just decided to do a half assed job when they gave the go ahead for the design of the ASC

Maybe it's meant to be a step up for the S2K owners given the general resemblance on the shape of the car (way too many more of those than NSX owners) and not for the hard-core NSX owners as we have here on Prime :D
