New NSX a go..?

The 997 turbo is the first Porsche to really grab my attention. There's a blue one that keeps showing up to E@RTC and I have to wipe the drool off the corners of my mouth.

The R8 does nothing for me. If you're going to do that you might as well do it right and get a Gallardo.

I'm meeting with the chap tomorrow who has the 997 Turbo that may replace my NSX. Going to run through some #'s, etc.

Drove the NSX around today and I still love the car, but that being said, I'm starting to enjoy driving my S4 more. It's hard to compete with newer cars... I'm just getting old and lazy, there's no doubt there, but at this point in my life with two kids (babies really) I don't have the time to fully enjoy the package that is the NSX. I'm ready for something new with all the bells and whistles that won't beat the crap out of me if I want to take a 3hr drive.

I wish Honda had the "HSC" or whatever hitting showrooms about now, it would be perfect timing for me. Oh well... I'll probably just end up keeping the NSX and waiting until I have time to really enjoy it again.

As for those other comments about S4 vs M3... they're not in the same league price wise or performance wise. S4 = 335, RS4 = M3. An M3 isn't going to do shit for me when I want to go up to Whistler to go skiing... that is why I chose the S4.

Aww sorry to see you go Doc your a great member of the community. Yeah NSX and kids don't really go together and at least the 997TT does have a back seat that kids can be put in.

I agree performance wise no but not price wise as with options the M3 is much closer than the 335. Also RS4 doesn't = M3 maybe the new RS5 though. I'm sure Audi is happy to see people believing they're advertising though.

Come on Doc tires are the equation here as AWD on summers isn't much better than RWD on Summers.

Which is why we also have a set of winter rims/tires up here... at least those of us who ski. I'm sure an M3 would work 90% of the time, even with the same winter set of tires... but it's that 10% that really sucks because that's when you're screwed.

The direction Honda is heading, I wonder if they will do away with the Fit Sport, I read somewhere(maybe on here) that Honda maybe ending the F1 program in a couple of years, heck why not do away with Acura, and anything remotely luxurious, or performance oriented. Once I get my NSX, I plan on keeping it for as long as I can, doing a 2002+ update to it(maybe Type R Conv) other than that I don't care if my daily driver is a Chevy Malibu, or Honda Fit, as long as I have something for the nice weekends. I agree Honda had soo much potential and with the design of the new Acura Models what they are doing, I don't have anymore interest in the company.

Well Honda has a plan... and people like me (and most of you) are not included. All that was the NSX is gone fellas... there isn't even an S2000 replaced. Heck, the if you read interviews the CEO isn't even trying to draw comparisons of the new CR-Z to the old CR-X... saying it's a totally new car and has no relation at all. How stupid do you have to be? Kill another cult following while you're at it....

Yeah.. at this point they might as well just dump the Acura brand all together... it has no direction, doesn't fit with the Honda paradigm and can't compete with the other major luxo brands. (No offense.. but really... it's a half assed attempt in my opinion... I hope they have something up their sleeves).

Wow Doc your NSX sold that quick:eek:

Agreed people have really stopped defending and started accepting Honda is no longer for enthusiasts. Still hard to believe sometimes. Like Doc said we would like to think they have something planned but they really don't and have abandoned enthusiasts all together well unless your a hybrid enthusiasts:redface:

At least their are a lot of products to try and make the NSX more modern but at some point people really do just have to look at something else. If you have the garage space their nice to have around but if not their really are some very nice newer cars out there.

I totally agree...we can make our cars still kick ass today but it costs a lot of money to do that....as in make it competitive with modern cars of today....

I would still keep the NSX and add to the stable......its like having a datsun 510 around....you just dont get rid of certain cars and the nsx is one of them....as the years go by mark my words this car will be heavily desired just as is the 510 is now.

Yes...it's all about the stable (for me at least) it's not about having the most impressive car each year, it's simply about having an impressive car period.

My NSX isn't going anywhere. I just bought a 93' Turbo MR2 as a daily driver, and the pennies are being saved for a Lotus, some day...I simply keep adding legends, no sales here, simply a love of MR.

What? The Datsun 510 is desired? I had a used 1970 Datsun 510 two-door for my first car. I never liked it although it was very reliable. I bought a new 1982 Prelude and sold the 510, and never missed it.

I've always loved the 94-95 MR2 turbo.
