just spray a crap load of your favorite cologne.

Take the liners out.
Soak them with the garden hose.
Wash them with lots of soap and water -not with high pressure at the car wash!
Wash a couple of times ending with Lysol liquid in the wash once.
Drip dry laying them in the sun.
Wash the inside of the trunk with soap and water. Vineger and water (not too strong) will work and don't put the liners back in until the smell is gone and it is dry.
Lay a couple of sheets of Bounce and put the liners back in on top of them.

Netviper, if you are still having trouble, try a bleach solution. If you can, remove carpet and soak for a few hours. Then, wipe the inside of the trunk, let soak for 5 minutes, then wipe off with a clean wet towel. Do not use concentrate beacuse concentrated bleach on bare aluminum is corrosive. Last step, totally expose the inside of the trunk to dry in the sun and let the carpet dry in the sun for atleast a day or so. The carpet must be totally sunned to remove all moisture which breeds the bacterior. Read bleach directions and wear gloves.
P.S covering up smells does not always work; you must kill it at the source.

I left fetachini in the trunk for weeks one time! I was going to puke. I used lysol spray and scrubed it into the carpet. You have to get it everywhere. Then the trick it to repeat once a week and LET IT AIR OUT. Do not close your trunk for at least a week. I would pull the fuse for the trunk light so you don't wear down the battery. Air and time are your best friends - the lysol kills the germs and bacteria that are growing - it will get better - trust me.
