My white NSXs one last time

Hi guys,
A gentleman offered to buy my 1992 coupe this past weekend. I am glad that it is finally sold, but I know I will miss it. I never did figure out if I like the white roof or black roof scheme better. Every time when I thought I like the white top better on my Targa, I turned around and see the coupe's handsome black roof. I fitted both with similar 5 spokes wheels and still can't figure out which is the winner. So by default, I am keeping the Targa and will always remember all the good times I had with the coupe. The coupe is a beautiful car but sometime it does remind me of the Camero/Firebird's color scheme. I wish my wonderful wife could drive the coupe more to justify owning 2 NSXs. But being so down to earth, my wife does not care much for flashy cars. Now I am about to turn the coupe over to the new owner, I took the twins out for one last time and snapped a few shots. I am sad since the coupe has a lot of sentimental value. It was a first big step for me to let go of Porsches. When my son was born, I drove him home from the hospital in the coupe. Take a look at them and tell me which you like better.

This really hurts.

I usually like color matched roofs more but with your twins, they are both winners. I love white cars, especially NSXs, the coupe can definitely be transformed into a Type-R sibling with little effort.

Its easy to speak from a personal (perhaps biased!) perspective, but when I see the cars side-side, I honestly believe that the black roofs look sleeker & more sophisticated.
Regardless of the flavor, Steve turns out his cars beautifully - anyone who passed on his immaculate 92 coupe missed a fabulous opportunity to get a really clean car, low miles for a great price. Congrats to the lucky winner - hope you show up soon on Prime.

Just like you I can't decide if I want to paint my roof on my 92 white or keep it black. Now that I see the pictures of your 92 Coupe and T side by side I'm even more confused. BOth look awsome.

I also originally wanted to paint the roof on the white NSX that I previously had, but over time, I grew to like the black roof better than the body colored ones, so I just left it.

So Steve, think you might want to sell the '97 in a year or 2?

I'd have to agree with this one. At one point, I was considering painting the top, untill I saw a silver with black top and tinted windows. The entire top looks like a canopy of a fighter jet.

Good thing I'm not in the positive to have to make a choice, like you. But if I was, I'd pick the 3.2 engine and the 6-speed hands down. If I had the option to keep both cars, I'd definitely turn the 92 into a track car.

Either way, you have 2 gorgeous cars there. I want to catch a ride in your targa at the next NSXPO. Wait till you install the white TE37s and drop it. It'll be a mean looking machine.

I think the color-matched top looks great on certain colors (silver and white for example); however, on other colors they can look a bit out of place.

Hi John,
Not at all. The car is only material goods and is far from being a member of the family. The extra garage space likely will go towards a Porsche Cabriolet, 993 turbo, or a 928. I'll see you in NSXPO.

Are you coming back to the States in 2 years? I don't know. I really can't think of a better daily driver than the NSX. So hopefully Honda gives me a new NSX, and I probably will sell the 97 to you. But then again, you might want the new NSX then too. Are you coming back for NSXPO?

Yes, sell your 97 to Ben That way I can buy if from him later JFYI, the White one I have now I bought from Ben.

They are both beautiful. IMO the 92 NSX looks like an elegant evening gown, and the 97 looks like a hot party dress.

Toss up.
In the picture, the white top looks better. But then in real time when you're actually standing there looking at it, I'd probably choose the black top. It shows the lines of the car better. I remember seeing Ilya's car for the first time with the black top. It looked really tight! I love the contrast!
I guess it also depends on the color of the car. My red looks better to me with the black top. If it were up to me, I'd buy a targa and paint the roof black.

Ok maybe not. It would look funny when you have the top off.
