My matte black Nsx stolen just now!

Dude, I'm glad you got her back.
If your getting a new console, I would be willing to accept your little dish out of your old broken one, the place where you would put your change or where the telephone controls sat into.
I had cut a hole in mine to put in a wideband gauge but now have changed the gauge to the dash.
Let me know

Always a relief to read a happy ending to threads like this and it has definitely gotten me thinking about the security.

The immobilizers in the newer Honda's are built into the ECU. An aftermarket immibilizer would be a good way to add fuel cut feature as long as it's installed well. At least it prevents simply making a copy of the key to be able to walk away with it...

Congrats on getting your car back, and more or less in one piece.

Question: I'm assuming the car was left outside, and fairly accessible? Was it in your driveway?

I know of a case from quite a few years ago where the thieves broke into the house, with the owners asleep, and grabbed the keys to the NSX and drove it out of the garage!! I seem to recall there was a second car that was stolen in that case too.

Totally forgot about that! i totally forgot that i had thought about that too and bought the NRG unit a few months ago!

thank you nsx-studs.

Remember guys that if someone if after YOUR NSX for a reason other than just the radio, he probably won't take it the same day.
He will take his time and take it when you have your guard down. Remember what happened to Rob, they took his car just outside the shop!

I too have an NRG quick release, but so what? The can just like you just go to eBay and comeback for your car another day .

I don't take my car anywhere that I will not be able to see it.

I really hate having to watch for some scum to try to steal my car, but sometimes I really want one of them to try, so I can release all of my anger. ;)

Any semi-proficient car theif wil get whatever car s/he wants, bottomline. Things the NRG qwick release is to deter the joyriders and idiot car thieves out there.

just a question ... do some of you guys not have alarm systems???
My alarm is so loud that it could be distinctly heard from miles away... as well the pager shakes like a mofo if something is around it ...

Everyday usage, my car is registered to a different house from where its actually at & the address on my license is a house my mother owned 5 years ago.

smart man.

agreed and understood on both counts.

i beleive that even a partial deterrent or anything that slows theives (smart and dumb) down one way or another, is better then nothing.

Hey so if you see someone trying to steal your car and you lay down a good beating on the thieve ..would you end up getting charged?

I'm pretty sure that even if someone breaks into your home and you lay down a good beating that you will be charged for it. You'd have to prove that the beating was an appropriate response i.e. self defense, etc... but laying down a beating is usually not an appropriate response.

Not matter how appropriate we think it is... I find that being the victim unfortunately, is usually a no win situation.

It's too bad they don't legalize that alarm system in Robocop where the thief is electricuted inside the car and the door automatically opens and the criminal gets dumped out.

I remember watching some cops type TV show where they wire up a car with a camera and kill system and leave the keys in the ignition. Some loser always seems to take the bait and steal the car. At the next stoplight, the car dies and the cops are on them. I love watching their faces when they get busted!

is there a link for this episode???
