My matte black Nsx stolen just now!

i'm sure they take cars apart for parts, but imo i cant see much market for nsx parts as they would only go into other nsx's. the car is so rare as well, it sticks out like a sore thumb on the road so it is easy to spot as well.

the civic/integra world from mid 90s to 2000s we're RAMPANT for demand for parts and thefts were thru the roof due to interchangeability of parts; amongst the demographic of owners/age group who would steal cars/sell parts for a living.

Great news ! Hope everything's alright with the car.
I don't understand why people would steal an NSX for a deck +/- a joy ride ? Don't they fully dismember the cars anymore, in a dark, private garage ? Or maybe I just watch too many movies...

By the way, master keys exist for the NSX ? To unlock AND start the car ?

Great news for you..glad to hear she's been found....to think it was a band of probably amateurs just looking for a joy ride ...but man it could have been alot worst ...consider it your christmas present getting your nsx back

good fortune...

UPDATE!

31 division found my car parked at the keele & sheppard area. I haven't seen the car yet but the only thing the officer noted to me was my center console was broken and my deck is missing. Door looks are fine so I guess they used a master key. Time to up my security game!

Thanks for the support everybody!!

I really hope no one has to go through any of this.

I would like to thank everyone again for their support.

I guess my situation was similar to myw's. I don't understand why anyone would take such a risk -.-.

I'm guessing it was mainly for the joyride. The early model nsx don't have immobilizer chips and are not laser cut making them easy to unlock AND start. It's a scary thought that these guys could have just used a civic key to do all of this...

:) I am definitely treating it as my xmas present and good fortune.

Good to hear all is well with the car, except for the center console.. I hope the prints leads to an arrest and you get to first upper hand to beat them. I never park my car out of site. I usually sleep with one eye open so I can catch them in the act and break fingers one by one!!!

can there be anything that can be done to make nsx theft of earlier models more difficult??

i'm going to have to install that integra/civic fuel cut off switch lol

Glad to hear that your car was found relatively quickly, and hope it wasn't damaged too badly.

A replacement center console and radio is a small price to pay to have it back.

I can't imagine the stress of it, take it easy and hope ya doing alright

Agreed with the Porscheguy, removeable steering wheel is the easiest visual theft deterrent out there. I'm so used to my OMP wheel that when I see oem airbaggers in the gallery forum here they look like school bus interiors

Glad to hear a happy ending to the thread. I hope over the winter your new lease on life with the NSX will bring it many many mods.

Plus removable steering wheel

Totally forgot about that! i totally forgot that i had thought about that too and bought the NRG unit a few months ago!

thank you nsx-studs.

Just cleaned up the car. I will definitely add the steering wheel to the mix for some added security. I love the type r momo wheel look oyagi.

Not to hijack this thread, but sometimes we have to injected a little humor into bizzare situations.
About 11 years ago, I was contacted by the police who said they had a key to my NSX. I headed down and to my surprise the key did indeed start the car.The police explained that my car had been ear-marked by a Toronto car ring... not only did the ring have my key, but they also knew where I lived. For 30 days as I was told, the police watched the bad guys who, in turn, watched my house....but no Jim or NSX. Fruitless as it appearred, the police in frustration conducted a raid....apparently sucessful.
I broke out laughing at this point. I explained to the Police that everyone was watching a house that I had left to my ex-wife. As for my license...well ...I was just too lazy to submit an address change even after 6 years of being seperated......Go figure!!!
Glad to hear a happy ending to your story...sometimes we need to get lucky!!

Great story, I would like to point out that this goes right along with my post in another thread that states the vehicle should never be registered tothe address where it is stored.

The other point is that having your license with an incorrect address also saved your car - this is why I love it when cops tell you to "change your address if you have moved"...

And to the O.P. - It is really great to hear you got your car back!! Merry X-Mas:smile:

u mean stored during off season? or just in general for every day usage/storage...
