Man wrong quote again...iPhone disaster!
I had my first hater encounter this week too. I was downtown TO on King Street after bar closing. I had the targa off and a buddy with me. Some douche, clearly outta jealousy yells "You think you're sooooo f****n cool eh?"...My buddy lost his shit and was gonna get out and drop this kid, but I held him back. Didn't want a boot to the side of my door.
One thing I will say though, the red NSX holds its own amongst the $100k Benzs and Rovers. People love that friggin car!
Agreed totally on last line of Jetpilot's post above!
Butter, I'm in the burbs of Detroit (I'll be at the festivities in London, Ont on 20 Aug so hope you can make it) and surprisingly in almost 2 years no one in the Motor City has had anything negative to say. Lots of hoons however like to get pretty close for a look and wanting to race (something I don't do) and then there was the turd in a Camry who tailgated me onto the ramp leading to I-696 (a nice tight one) who actually understeered right off the ramp while trying to keep up -- that was a very gratifying experience for me.
However, IMHO just best to ignore any stupid comments -- usually not worth dignifying the comment with a response. Take it for what is was -- immature and likely from an imbecile.
Best,
Jeff
So on Monday I was driving near the Donmills and Steels area and pulled into the gas station at the North East corner. A couple of guys were sitting in a late model Camaro. The driver pulled his window down after I had finished fueling up and yelled out "how's you mid engine accord?" and both duche bags start laughing. I dropped the window and yelled out " you drive a pos domestic...you can dress up a pos but at the end of the day it's still the same pos that can only somewhat go in a straight line" and drove away. If you don't have anything nice to say just keep the comments to your self. I did regret responding to them though. Should have just ignored them.
"your mom seems to like it"
if they get mad and chase you, just take a turn and they will crash and die in a fire.
....Car in front of me at the lights (planning to turn left) proceeds to open the driver's door and drop a bag of Mc'D's. Me watching this is left just shaking my head and the light turns flashing green so we proceed. As we round the turn I pull to the side of the driver, its a woman, and I proceed to puff out my cheeks as to insinuate she was fat.
OH MY GOD DID SHE GO BALLISTIC! Chased me for a couple of blocks basically trying to kill me. It was the best! I was laughing the whole time.......
late model camaros (like my GTO) do handle deceptively well with the right mods. Don't let their big bulky high centered look deceive u.
It would suck if the V-TEC wasn't suffice for the VORTECH.
I have a co worker that came across a NSX gathering a few years ago.
He is a 911 guy and approached the NSX group somewhere in ON and proceeded to ask about the NSX.
To sum it up he said that the NSX guys in Canada are VERY stuck up. So he kept the 911.
Let's see some photos of your NSX. It could be just ur NSX and whatever mods u may have.
I get praises and wow's with my NSX. I'm sure most people on this forum have seen it. And couple that with the STMPO exhaust and SOS SC. I rev the engine and lots of the domestic guys snap their head around and can't even mutter a word. They have problems keeping their mouths closed.
The only comments I get is that my car looks and sounds like it belongs on the track.
Camaro is a nice car, not a POS that can't handle. I've seen plenty of 1G+ cornering Camaros out handle some really high end imports in autox.
I mostly get really good comments and nods when I drive around...actually almost every time
yeah my neighbor couldn't believe it was a 20 year old car... he thought it was one of my sisters rich guy friends as he had seen it driving around. after he found out how cheap it is, he jumped online to find one. lol. definitely a nice car still...
but haters gonna hate.

I wasn't going to jump in on this, but after Jeff's comments about the Motor City I had to specifically relate two incidents. There have been other times when guys have commented stuff like "too bad you didn't buy American."
- about two years ago, driving down a county road outside Plymouth, scruffy looking dude driving an oncoming older Chrysler minivan flips me the bird. Never seen him or the minivan before, guess he was UAW rank and file member.
- three summers ago, 5 PM leave a place in Livonia, MI (Detroit W 'burb) where I had parked the NSX in ONE space with targa roof off/windows up and find a HUGE loogie spit onto my driver's door window. Guess he was a UAW rank and file member.
I don't understand why these idiots feel that we should support an inferior model of cars just to keep them employed. Part of the reason GM/Ford/Chrysler got into the mess they did is the ridiculous amount of money they have to pay these assembly line button pushers for their mundane tasks when they could have invested in design, research and quality to compete. Honda, Nissan and Toyota pay less but fare wages and get the same quality and output from their workers if not better. They also invest more into research and design and take pride in the quality of their vehicles. Something that "the big American 3" seem to be starting to do now but they still have to catch upto the track record of reliability set by the competitors across the pond.
Near the Windsor area, they have car stickers that read "want to be jobless? Keep buying foreign"..
I LOVE driving right up to them and smiling, hahaha ... I'm so unethical.
