Mine's stiffer than yours!

Or maybe they're all about the same...

I've had the car up on jack stands for a few weeks while I did the brakes and suspension. Today when I pulled out the right front jack stand the front of the car didn't move an inch! I was shocked to see the front of the car suspended in the air on just one stand on the driver's side and the two in the rear! How stiff is your frame?
 
That would make a great picture. Get a measuring tape and show how the car doesn't move while on 3 stands. I have heard that some mechanics said the NSX would sometime rock on the lift due to the stiff chassis and little to no flex.

Make sure to get Type-R chassis reinforcement though. I'm not sure how bad for the car it would be to rock it like that, but the chassis bar is definitely something all the NSXs should have had.

Chopjazz, a similar thing happened to me. I had the rear of the car on Jack stands for an oilchange. To completely drain all the oil, I decided to jack up the front. Placed the jack on the left side and I did not need a jack for the right side. The whole car went up..Level There was no place that I could find to jack up the front from the center.
 
:confused: IN one way, I'm impressed with the stiffness of the nsx, but just to counter your point..

any car can be lifted by 3 points....

I did that to my 95 accord, 95 civic, dad's 3000GT and my sister's C220 when I changed tires / breeding brakes...

Like I said, NSX is stiff, but the scene you saw that the car lifted on 3 points are not something to prove the stiffness of the nsx...

Meanwhile, the way I see the NSX stiffness is that when it's lifted, how solid the door got closed? My accord would sound like the door had been mis align a little, My Dad's 300GT is a nightmare, with the side windows up, you can get the door closed but it's visaully misaligned, very very scary.

Do you mean 3000GT as in the one from Mitsubishi? I've said it before, I'll say it again. Mitsubishi is the ford of Japan. I've owned a brand new Mitsu and it was a Lemon. Very low quality cars. I wish I could go back in time and slap myself then say "buy an Integra!!! you Dolt!!"


Oh as for stiffness....Havent you guys seen some of those GT class races where a car would lose a wheel or tire and the car seems to be driving on the other 3 wheels in a straight line as if it was still on all fours? Of course when they make a turn thats a different story. Kenji is right though; the NSX-R chassis upgrade sounds like a really great deal from SoS:

I had an experience last week at the wheel/tire shop that went like this:

The guys had to lift my car on a smaller lift as their main lifts were too high for my front lip to clear...

They removed a front tire and the car started to rock backwards to the point the I had to move forward to catch it! Just the weight of the tire missing from the front 'teetered' the car backwards, I could keep it balanced with one finger moving it up and down, crazy.

Then the guy said 'Is this like a Vette where we can't open the door when it's being lifted because of the flex? We opened the door, and it opened and shut without any difficulty at all.

Stiff indeed.

When he asked you if The NSX was "like a 'vette" Did you give him the look of God angered:mad:

That is pretty impressive though.

I replied flatly "It is not like a Vette", and that's when I opened the door, and then shut it again (hoping of course the NSX would not fail me at that moment).

When the door opened and shut as if it was still in the parking lot, his mouth dropped open and he agreed, "I guess not! The last time we had a Vette up and needed to get the door open, we had to take it down to get the door shut".

I had a similar experience as you. Last weekend I installed the TEIN-RA suspension kit and put the car on jack-stands for it.
It was only then that I noticed that the car simply didn't contact the jackstand on the left front, even though they are all the same model. It seems that the garage-floor I was working on isn't as flat as I thought. The chassis was hovering about .2 inch above the jackstand and the car simply didn't move at all even when I sat down in it.
Wonderfull thing... ;)
