Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

We met our friend who has a garage at M1 Concourse for today's C&C event, and even though it started out pretty cold (43*F) it was a most excellent event with plenty of cars and car folks.
There were 2 NSX's, one original looking black coupe with 209K miles as well as a much lower mileage red targa which rumor has it has never been in VTEC

Oh, and there was a bizarre RHD turbo bike-powered Japanese gull-winged Kei car there whose owner (cough Tianbo cough) must be some kind of strange dude

Autozam!

Last night's CJ's GTG featured some new cars to the group, as Tianbo brought his tiny little Autozam and we also finally got to see Eric's superb Brooklands Green/Tan '94 NSX in person!

Love Kei cars. Really came close to a Cappuccino but went a different direction.

Sorry to have missed Weds. Oct. 3rd CJ's car reveal!

A photo of the last Baker's Cruise-In for this summer - Sept. 30th - Blodi's turbo monster, Trevor's gated R-8 V-8, and a Lotus.

Autoweek's Corktown Cars gathering this Saturday morning - perhaps their first one this summer without rain? Then Toledo CnC Sunday AM.

Weekend weather good, car show GREAT!

Saturday morning was chilly and still a bit damp, however a few of us met on the west side and headed downtown for Cars in Corktown sponsored by Autoweek.

Sunday we ran down to Toledo (Ohio) Cars N Coffee. It started out slow at 9 am, but by 10-10:15 am some very nice metal showed up. John, owner of a 1991 red SC NSX, showed up w/his new red R-8 V-8. The F12 Berlinetta was incredible, as was the white with red interior F458. Following that we got a tour of a local collector's impressive private collection - two Dino's, spotless red/tan 96 NSX, several classic Mercedes, P 356, VW Karmann-Ghia, other classics.

Good stuff, Neal!

It was c-c-cold at Mid-Ohio for the Fall Classic race weekend, but with the VIR races being cancelled at the last minute due to hurricane-related flooding, everyone descended upon Mid-O......so the fields were huge!

No guesses. Early OEM exhaust, updated/custom wheels. I have not seen that Michigan license plate before.

We toured the Soo Locks and vicinity the past 5 days - over 850 miles on my DD Honda 2008 Accord EX-L - what a nice sedan (4 cyl).
That said, I could not wait to return and drive an NSX before looking at upcoming storage situations. You guys all set up for indoor winter storage? It's been a scramble.

Considering building an out-garage in 2019. Two car lift.

EDIT: It would/could not be anywhere as cool as Ed's ("NSXBuilder" in Twin Cities, MN) garage!

I believe that is Dan Diehm's NSX.

We're going to be getting into "storage mode" in the next week or 2 as well......

Will be storing my car in the northern part of the mitten this winter .

We had a pleasant drive up and visited the "mushroom houses" of charlevoix along the lake. Earl Young constructed them in the 20s and 30s - before some british author published his fantasy books about hobbits !

Was quite a joy to enjoy the last of the colors in the "tunnel of trees" and over those hilly backroads in the area. The windshield took out a small reckless bird (definitely wasn't speeding or anything ) but no deer, thankfully.

And of course, the reason to move the silver car was to make room for the other garage project.

That underpowered 3.1L V6 will be replaced by the proper v8 chunk of aluminum in the corner. ported with a hot cam !

I have 1 space available in our garage for Winter storage (available immediately), email me for details if interested.....

Emailed, thanks pjr300!
Patrick might have something ostensibly British (although given current ownership I question that it is really British) but I can provide a matching red NSX should Patrick and you not come to an agreement -- LOL! We can stuff your garage with as many NSXs as a certain unnamed friend of ours has in his possession. I'm resigned to storing Baby in my garage and my daily driver will sleep outside but if you do have room let me know and I'm happy to work something out with you. Best,Jeff

Before hibernation

The twins wanted to see each other before winter's sleep.
