Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Would love to attend on Sunday but will be in The Great White North. Hope you all have a great time. Taking my son to Niagara Falls (he's never seen them) and as an added bonus I've located a very nice Gen III TL (/08, silver/black) with relatively low miles for my Dad in Toronto to replace his /04 TL that although running great does have 150,000 miles on the clock. Dad and I have already driven the /08 and it appears to have been well loved and cared for -- sad story in that the owner who is not even 65 is going into some form of assisted living. NSX Club of Canada master tech Rob Magro will do PPI on Saturday.

Best,
Jeff

Going to try to make it this Sunday, but will have to play it a bit by ear. (18 month old and a 6.5 month pregnant wife make things hard to plan with any certainty.)

In other news...picked up my new daily for the next year the other day....certainly the anti-nsx...but fantastic for the daily commute on Southfield with it's active cruise control.

Announcement for Sunday, October 23rd event!

Announcement for Sunday, October 23rd event!

Details have been finalized for this Sunday’s NSX event as follows:

9:30 A.M. meet in parking lot of Tractor Supply Company, New Hudson, MI. Please hit link to location here:

http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/store_NEWHUDSON-MI-48165_1500

This location is just south of the I-96 / Milford Road interchange and there is a gas station close by.
PLEASE arrive with sufficient motion-lotion for an awesome drive!

Drive segment one will take us south through New Hudson / South Lyon and west across Seven Mile Road to Whitmore Lake. We will then repeat our fall drive from last year by slowly parading through the scenic and prestigious Barton Hills neighborhoods just north of Ann Arbor.

Drive segment two will pop us across the Huron River to pick up scenic Huron River Drive, northwest out through Dexter, and then a loop through Hell, MI. We will return to Territorial Road, then east past US-23 to end at Primer’s SCA037 and NSXGal’s home near Six Mile and Curtis Road.

At the conclusion of our drive we will enjoy Brats, Chili, beverages, and hospitality courtesy of above Primers – plenty of parking on their cul-de-sac.

Checking the Sunday weather today it looks promising with 65 F and partly cloudy. Last roof-off event for us Targa drivers?

Hey guys,

In spite of a couple unforseen circumstances (like- who lays new asphalt on a Sunday morning???) I think we had one heck of a nice drive event today.

By my count, 17 cars engaged in a beautiful MI morning to soak in the Fall colors and (when not stuck behind a van or pickup towing a boat ;-) get a few doses of "Italian Tune-Up" to help keep the hardware running in tip top shape.

Thanks to all the old friends who participated, and CHEERS to the new friends that joined the fray!

Brian (& Judi)

My father and I had a wonderful cruise today. Thanks Neal & Tianbo for the route, and Brian and Judi for the great hospitality afterwords !

SUPER Sunday!

I think we had seventeen sports cars, but more importantly a great group of enthusiasts and a fun, safe 85 mile drive with no incidents

Thanks TBox for preparing route maps and taking the lead on drive segment two. THANKS SCA037 and NSXGAL for opening your home to both friends and new acquaintances without reservation - food was tasty!

Home Monday 1135 pm after 17 days away and some 3200 miles driven

Lots of wildfires in/around the TN - GA line. N of Knoxville as well. Real dry down there with the TVA dammed lakes quite low. Driving through smoke from Dalton, GA to N of Knoxville, TN.

Drove the Cherohala Skyway east from TN into NC and Robbinsville Monday, then Tail of the Dragon northbound (US-129) at 245 pm. Back up through Alcoa, Maryville, and thru Knoxville at 415 pm rush hour. Trees still had some color but the prevailing smoke from the forest fires precluded many views. Smoke made the full moon orangish, though.

I liked the Cherohala Skyway better than the Dragon. It went up to ~ 5300 feet! The Dragon was so slow - I saw only 8-9 cycles and 7-8 cars on it, plus one marked black Sheriff patrol Chevrolet Tahoe w/a Blount County (TN) Deputy Corporal giving a southbound red Ford Focus driver a safe Dragon-drivin' lesson  KillBoy photographers were out - likely very bored with the non-existent traffic - I'll have to hit their website to look for their photos.

See you at CJ's!
