MexiRicer's 97 MCB

BTW, just in case anyone is wondering?

Here you go!

Last I checked, the NSX-R engine cover is available from any Acura dealer in the US. Nobody seems to know why it's being stocked in the US, but it is. Both myself and several other members successfully bought one last year from Acura Parts For Less.

The NSX-R engine cover hinges are also available from Acura. Most of the other parts (e.g. special bolts and brackets) you'll have to get from Japan.

Thread is definitely due for an update! Here are some of my favorite photos taken at our Southwest regional event "West Fest." The event took place during the Cinco de Mayo weekend in Las Vegas and ended up being by far my favorite Las Vegas trip of all time (I've only been to Vegas a few times in my life :)). Huge thank you to Les @LMR for bringing me on board to help out with the planning of the event. I now have so much more respect for everything he and the Southwest region do for our community as a lot of time and work goes into planning and execution. Photo credit is due to Eric @akira3d, Craig @SeaSharp and Hova @Hlee

wow its my ptfo pic...

Recently I featured MexiRicer's NSX on my facebook page. Congrats bro on the coverage.

I'd like to take a brief moment to catch my breath. Never would I have realized this moment being so difficult to fathom. I want to thank my family, first and foremost, for encouraging me to go after my dreams and pursue them to no end. I want to thank the so cal nsx community, couldn't have done it without ya'll. This one's for us, boys.

Bruh fucking seriously... Photobucket just bombed all of my photos. Know where their headquarters is at? @synth19

Does this mean your home and nsx have secret escape passageways?

With the recent Photobucket image hosting BS and the fact that facebook is so easy to use and upload, I'll admit I became a bit discouraged to continue updating the thread. Okay, I wasnt discouraged just being very lazy  . That being said, here is what the car has been up to:

Tarox 6pot BBK w/ Stoptech e-brake
Cedar ridge front sway bar endlinks
KSP engineering front lip
New viair tank and compressor

The tear down of my OEM brakes began around mid July, just a few days after I had all of my Tarox components in hand and ready to be installed. I didnt anticipate for the install to drag out into September, but fun obstacles came about that were simply out of my control. First I'd like to give a huge thank you to Roman @solidol for hooking me up with all 4 calipers, front pads + front rotors and Nick @SDNSXTECH for not only ordering me the last remaining bits such as rear rotors and lines but also providing his wealth of knowledge during my install. Because Tarox does not offer an e-brake option with their 6pot rear caliper/rotor combo, I was determined to make either a brembo or stoptech e-brake caliper work. I went with the stoptech route due to availability and price, thanks to Johnny @93nsxturbo for the st e-brake calipers! Now I had all pieces in hand but decided it would be best if I had a stoptech e-brake caliper bracket in hand so that I can have a reference point rather than trying to make one from scratch. Thankfully the so cal nsx community comes in clutch yet again with Shaylor @Shaylord loaning me one of his e-brake caliper brackets meanwhile he finds a buyer for his complete stoptech bbk w/e-brake (still for sale btw). The so cal NSX Godfather aka Denny's #1 senior citizen breakfast customer Les @LMR pointed me in the right direction for fabrication of custom e-brake brackets by introducing me to his long time friend Roger. Roger used to be huge in the dune-buggy scene and always fabricated his own parts, so my bracket needs were met 100%. Because the stoptech rear rotors are 328mm in diamater and my tarox are 316mm, the bracket's mounting points for the e-brake had to be shortened a bit. After careful measurements I decided on moving said mounting points down the center by 8mm and it ended up being spot on, with 2.8mm of clearance between the underside of the e-brake caliper and the rotor. During the time my e-brake caliper brackets were being fabricated, I was configuring my custom Tilton proportioning valve arrangement so that I could adjust the bias on both rear calipers. Nick suggested that I run this due to the fact that I would be utilizing the 6pot configuration all around. After messaging Albert @hearttohateu about the custom tilton prop valve set up he had for sale and then seeing it installed on Leon's @IVACE1 NSX, I now had some direction in how I wanted to mount mine. Because my nsx is not a dedicated track car nor will it ever be (I dont think) I did not want to completely delete ABS. Leon explained to me how he mounted his prop valves after ABS, so that for normal street driving I'd still have that on my side in case of unexpected situation. My set-up involved two Tilton lever-type valves (one for each rear caliper), goodridge lines/fittings and earls elbow fittings. Took me a few hours to remove the two hard-lines and install the new equipment.

Hard to tell any difference in a side by side comparison, so I placed the stoptech bracket under and my new custom on top. Mounting points moved down effectively 8mm towards the center

Test fit, so far so good

Nice and snug, sweet! Mission accomplished!

During downtime, managed to snag this little guy from Japan thanks to Masaya @carboy219 for helping me get in onto US soil

A little diy cleaning during downtime. I used evapo-rust and results were killer. Dont ask me how it even got this rusty, was like that since previous owner ;)

My front oem front sway bar end links had been shot and making an annoying squeaking noise for the longest. Finally stopped being lazy and took care of that thanks to Cedar Ridge fab @titaniumdave

I had never posted a pic of under the front bay because of how messy and ugly it looked

But now I don't mind, lol! Thank you Nemo @nsxnemo for inspiring me to get off my lazy ass and do it properly

Front caliper ~7.8 lbs

Rear caliper ~7.4 lbs

E-brake caliper ~6.1 lbs

Real reason I went Tarox, OEM 16/17 fitment, including my nsx spec mf10 ;)

2oks5OB.jpg

Rear bolted up. Rear rotor ~17 lbs; 316x26mm

l7pCfRs.jpg

Fronts ready for action. Front rotor ~15 lbs; 305x26mm

All that's left now is to complete bedding in procedure which consists of street cruising with occasional hard braking but nothing aggressive, for 500km, per Tarox. Once that is done, I can adjust the proportioning valves and will then report back with feedback! NSXPO 2018 Sonoma ready ;)

Sounds like a plan to me.
I'll bring the chips. You bring the guac.

So that means you're coming to so cal nsx bbq this coming weekend!? :D

@MexiRicer powdercoat those radiator brackets... they'll rust again because they are missing that green OEM stuff.

Yeah for sure man, if it happens again thats what I'll do or just get new oem.

Recent pic of the car feeding her belly before a little ACH run. Let the bedding begin :)
