Does any know where I could buy the wire or aluminum mesh to replace the louvers on my side intakes? I would use same mesh on the fake intakes on my side skirts.

I've looked at Lowe's and Home Depot at the mesh used for stucco, but I'm just not crazy about that.

I really like the mesh that Ferrarri uses on their F430 intakes, but where to buy that??? I contacted a local body shop here in Dallas that works on all exotics, but no help.

Any help or sources would be appreciated

thx in advance

Go to any large arts and crafts store ,they have many finer meshes made of all sorts of metals even copper.

I bought some from HD that I was very happy with. It is in the lumber area. It came in a length of about 7~9' long and was about 10" wide and was bent at a slight angle the entire length of it.
I was able to make myself a pair and then make lots more and gave them away.
I just removed old ones, traced them, cut them, primed, painted and reinstalled them.
Gotten compliments on the appearance of them also.

open for diff. materials?

If you want resin/urethane material instead of aluminum/galv._Steel...

Otherwise, check'out the storm-door & sun-room deptartment of the large DIY materials/supplies stores (ie. The Home Depot, Lowes, etc'). They have a lot more selection than the usual concrete-lathe & gutter-guard type of mesh.

G'luck!

What you are looking for is perforated sheet metal. It comes in Al, steel and SS. You can find them in dedicated metal stores. I used it liberally on my car. Good luck.

Most of the import body kits come with a medium aluminum mesh. Pro teams use stainless steel wire mesh.

I haven't seen the F430 intake mesh to comment.

I don't care for that stuff either.
For the side intake try the mesh that the same stores have for rain gutters. It comes in much smaller sheets but it is heavier and holds it shape. It is wide enough for this application.
As with all aluminum, you need a good self etching primer if you want the final paint, say black, to adhere and not chip/flake over time.

This company sells the same thing but it comes powder coated black. $3.05 for a 6" x 4' section.
Easy to cut and epoxy to the inside of the side vent ducts. It has a nice diamond pattern and is heavy enough so it won't cave in but still can be cut with tin snips.

Nice link John@microsoft. I'm adding that to my collection.

This is the engine cover that Chromatose and I did for my car. I also did the intakes as well, per the FAQ instructions.

PM NSXo1. He has it in his and it matches his WWkit. I had thought about it after I did my WWkit. I may still do it. I am just concerned about the mesh getting clogged up. But then to, I just drive streets, not roads. Give Tony a PM though.

You're right. Wrong link. Try this one.

Try McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/). They have a large selection of mesh (just type in "mesh" in the search box). I buy quite a bit from them for work and have always been pleased with their service. They ship the same day the order is placed and, at least for Utah, the order arrives the next day without paying anything extra.
