Lexus IS official pricing

Oh yes, door slamming is the way to judge quality on a car.

Sorry, but Toyota build quality is far better than BMW's.

Sorry but I disagree. Toyotas feel cheap regardless if it has the L or the T. Also I did not say that one judges the overall quality by comparing the way a door shuts

Also there is a reason why both Acura and Lexus are gunning for BMW

You're right... it's called marketshare.

IMO, VW makes horrible cars but any car company would be glad to have their sales. I'm not equating BMW with VW, btw, merely pointing out that your logic is somewhat flawed.

BMW makes good cars (too bad the're all ugly now  ) and IMO, they do the best job of all major manufacturers of balancing sport with luxury, handling with good ride characteristics. But I'm hard pressed to think for one second that their quality (whether measured brand new or 10 years down the road) is as good or better than most Japanese cars. But that's just me and my personal experience.

I do agree that the newer BMW's aren't as good looking anymore  but in my personal experience, I've felt that the build quality (not reliability  ) on BMW's is much better than most any japanese car that i have owned.
