Thought I would pass along some very nice praise I received from my instructor at Road Atlanta this past weekend. Larry Correnti drives a yellow Z06 (DAMN fast!) and was a great instructor. He remarked in almost every session that my car was probably the best all around track car ever sold in the U.S., and how impressed he was with how balanced and capable they were.
I had mentioned that I was trying to catch up with the ability of the car and not have it's talent be the reason why I was fast which he discounted somewhat. He remarked that the NSX versus several other cars will let you know when you do things right vs. wrong, and will not really cover up your failings as a driver.
He asked me twice if I had ever driven any other car on the track, to which I said no. He then said I do not know how lucky I am to be learning on such a fine machine, which I could only agree wholeheartedly. Nice to hear someone talk so nicely about our cars.
BTW, the Z06 is a fabulous track car. Larry was running with everyone at RA except for a couple of the Porsche cup cars and one 996 twin turbo. Power was phenomenal, very good traction and manners. Transmission seemed a little rough, as he never did any "fast" shifts. The power steering must be fairly light, as he could one hand steer through 10a and 10b while downshifting from 4th to 3rd to use the throttle to steer the rear for better entry in 11. The most amazing ride I have had at a track so far.
