knight Rider pilot

I felt like I was watching a re-incarnated episode of Pacific Blue  I thought is was tacky. It really could have been a cool movie. I think all the shameless Ford plugs may have gotten in the way

Just my $.02

I tried watching it and got bored within 2-3 min. Ended up watching "Dexter" which was really weird but somewhat interesting(much more than KR). I don't have showtime so never watched it before...

So, how was it:smile: ? reactions? Mustang as KITT and Val Kilmers voice? Enquiring minds want to know.

Terrible..... I did not see any of the good stuff like turbo boost, ski mode, ejection seats, lots of TVs in the dash, massive chest hair like the Hoff had, cars driving into Semi's. And whats the deal with the new Mike having a love interest and being such a winer? The show was not good at all. Finally I think they taped an hour show and stretched it to two hours by adding more commercials.

I did not expect much at all but this still fell below expectations, who in their right mind would have directed this and thought it would be liked? The acting was bad, the stunts were bad, the bad guys were not really all that scary, KITT had a bad voice, and the final big stunt with the car driving into KITT, yea that sucked. With that said (and I still feel a little dirty saying this) I really liked the way the Mustang looked with the chrome rims. I think the car is hot.....

Didn't see it. Don't plan to see it. I want to keep my KR memories of enjoyment intact.

Hey chicagoNSX, by chance were all those commercials also Ford commercials?

I thought it wasn't bad. I enjoyed the commericals with KITT more than the show. I think it will be OK though once it gets going.

But the original Knight Rider was terrible too! Not quite the tie in like the 2 hour Ford commercial, but still terrible.

True but they didn't try to force feed you GM commercials in the original. For me the show's being terrible doesn't really bother me, its the shameless product tie in that keeps me away.

The show was a complete piece of $hit. I'd rather be tied to an electric chair and forced to watch the Smurfs.

since i didnt grow up in the era of the original.....when i do go back an watch it...i think it is pure shit also. So with that being said...this one is okay. Certain effects should have been done better, the main actor is not that good, and um..........where was Michael Knight actually walking to..the river? lol

I hope they do make this a show because its more entertaining than the rest of the crap on TV like..."my dad is better than your dad"......WTF? Now lets had japanese tetris too.

They seemed to be! To confess I hit pause on my DVR when the commercials came on and then fast forwarded through them so I missed most of the commercials.

Regarding the original, yes it was bad. At least I now think it was but when it was first on I must have been 9 and between KR and Dukes of Hazzard I thought I was in heaven. I was too young to know about acting, story line, etc. All I cared about was the cars and the cool stuff they did. The old show kicked the snot out of this first pilot for cool stuff. Just my opinion

i lost interest in the show when the chick is walking around the casino with KITT in the parking lot yet he could still tell her exactly where in the casino the bad guys were via ear piece (i guess KITT can tap into video cameras or something too). Pretty much they took all the personality out of the car. Wheres the Turbo Boost! Wheres the cut scene with kitt flying thru the desert with the cheesy DUN DA DUN music and michaels feathered hair. It just sucks

I didn't enjoy the show (fell asleep) but I suddenly felt the need to go out and buy a Shelby GT500KR.

So odd.

ROFL

Despite my fondenss for the show as a boy, watching the original now reminds me of how bad the show actually was.

But this remake... awful. Just awful.

Anyone else notice how they re-cycled so many shots from the show Las Vegas? They even had several shots (casino floor and casino entrance) where you could see Montecito.

Bad show.

Season 2 of Dexter just ended on Showtime.

IMO, Dexter is one of the best TV shows ever made, part of the modern era of the Premium channel TV original series embodied by the Sopranos (which actually started on CBS oddly enough), Six Feet Under, and others (Carnivale, Deadwood, Weeds, Californication, etc.)

I did not watch the 'new' Knight Rider nor do I expect to.
