Hi guys,
My 1994 came with a K40 front and back radar system. It has 2 red lights installed at the gauge face plate. Does any of you have good experience with it? I know it is retailed at $1200 but I want a V1 instead. Should I just keep it or should I just change to a V1. If I decide to remove it, I want to know if anyone would be interested in it. You can have the unit for free, but we need to swap the face plates and the gauge housings.
Thanks,
Steve

I have V1 on my NSX and K40 on my Lexus. For me K40 work better. I think having sensor at the front of the car detect better.

I'm confident that your experience is in the minority. The K40 wasn't bad in it's day, but it is several generations behind now. Very nice and clean, but less than optimum performance.

I have a K40 front-and-rear built in on one car, and a Valentine 1 that I switch between the other two cars. The Valentine 1 is far superior. Which is why all the magazine tests agree (even the few that don't rate the Valentine 1 on top).

Anyway, if anyone wants to have the K40, he/she can have it for free and I will remove the system at my own expense( previously I asked that prospective person to pay for the removal) and we also need to swap the face plates/bezels and gauge housings.
BTW, in what year did they change the face plate/bezel to the current ones that have no "unleaded gasoline" plate? My 1992 has it, but not my 1994 and 1997. 1993?

Do you have any pics of what your face plates look like with the red lights?
