June 21 drive

Hello, we are planning a drive on Saturday, June 21. Here's the agenda:

1. meet in the morning after breakfast
2. drive to destination for lunch
3. return to Phoenix for dinner

People are free to stay overnight should they choose not to drive back with the group.

Here are some ideas for a more organized drive, based on past experience:

Communication
Please see below.

Caravan speed
The Group Speed shall be the lowest maximum speed at which any member of the group feels comfortable driving.

Driving rules
If you are leaving the group for any reason, clearly communicate your intentions to the entire group, then fall back behind everyone prior to turning off, to avoid confusion.

Leave sufficient gaps between vehicles to allow for road debris, rocks, etc.

If a car is left behind (due to traffic lights, etc.), the leading cars are to pull over and wait for the stragglers to catch up.

If a car breaks down for any reason, at least one other vehicle should stay with that car until assistance arrives.

If someone wants to stop for a photo/rest break, the entire group should be alerted so that everyone can stop at the next available safe spot.

Other tips
Bring plenty of sunblock, water, film, asprin, batteries, etc.

Please sign up (see my posts below), and submit other suggestions/ideas. Thanks! This will be an awesome event!

Oops.......:D

Phoen$x,

Thanks a lot for telling me about the B-BQ the other week. It was a great chance to get to meet other owners in the valley and put faces with on-line names. Everyone was very nice -- what a great group!

I will love to attend the road trip in June -- hey, any excuse to stay behind the wheel :) Count me in!!

Excellent! It was really nice to meet you too, and damn -- that blue NSX of yours is pretty! By the way, how was the turbulence from driving at high speed with the roof off?

The next drive should be awesome!

There was a huge difference with the top off.. I felt a big difference at 105-110.

It was a fun drive, managed to pick up a nice tan!

Hehe, that's why I specifically said roof instead of top -- didn't want it to get misconstrued ya know. ;) Of course topless would be a great way to get rid of that tan line!

i'M IN....

I keep missing these events but now I know where to luck. Count me in, I never miss an oppertunity to go to Sedona, and I never miss an oppertunity to drive a caravan of NSX's anywhere. :D

NSX'n, Was that 105-110 MPH, or 105-110 degrees Fahrenheit?
(You are talking about Phoenix, after all)

Since June 21 has the most # of votes (other than "no pref"), let's plan on that.

The Pavillions....

What time should I arrive at the Pavillions on Saturday, are there a lot of NSX's there..... I am up for any weekend in June and would like to be part of this.....

So is everyone still planning on meeting up at the pavillions this weekend?

Chris and I were there last weekend and not a single NSX! =(

Lets see if we can get a show of hands of who is meeting up this weekend, and still interested in the drive maybe.

Take care all

-Seth

Yes, and yes! I need to exercise my NSX, and the drive is definitely on (according to the poll 12 people are interested so far)! I couldn't go to the Pavilions last weekend due to work, but I'll be there this Saturday. We can discuss plans for the drive. See ya.

I'll try to be there but I'll likely bring the Porsche.

I'll be out of town that weekend, but look foward to the drive.

I think you guys should decide on a route. I'm sure the other AZ natives will have a good idea, but if you guys would like ideas, I thought the Phoenix - Prescott - Jerome - Sedona - Phoenix route I took recently was awesome. The drive between Prescott and Jerome was nothing short of awesome (even in a RV!)

Has there been any consideration if this should be an overnight stay? Unless there's opposition, staying the night up North would allow us to enjoy ourselves, and allow us to take our time.

If you guys would like to do an overnight stay, I'd be willing to arrange a morning meeting place with breakfast grub at Basch Acura/ScienceofSpeed and look into a catered lunch in Prescott (Linx Lake perhaps). Would someone be able to look into a place to stay in the Sedona area if this sounds like a good idea?

Have a good weekend,
-- Chris

Sounds good, if not a little before. Let's round up the gang (scNSXgirl, MYNSX, Syonara, Honda4Life, etc.) and catch up on everything. Anyone interested in doing dinner too?

I wont be able to go this weekend, or next weekend probably.... :(

Onewildnsx: As Honda4Life pointed out, this is an open event to all NSXers interested. Incidentally, are you Syonara's friend that bought the NSX with the turbo kit? If so, we haven't seen you in a while! Regardless, we'd love to meet/see you again.
