Acura Sherway is the biggest rip off dealer I encountered - they wanted to charge me $130 +tax for an oil change and when I asked for a better price, they simply said "NO"

I use Acura 2000 right now and they charge me $50 including taxes for an oil change - they also give me discounts on parts and labor for everything I do there (10-20%) - Also, in my opinion, they are one of the best dealers I encountered when it comes to superior customer service (at least that was my experience)

It's interesting, I guess everyone has their own experiences. I bought my NSX from 2000, and after we settled on a price they charged me $650 extra for accessories. I took it there for one $90 oil change and then didn't go back.

Yep, I've had nothing but good service + prices at Sherway, but probably because I know the owner. Other people seem to have had poor experiences there. I think this reinforces the need for us to band together as a collective whole that decides where we will spend our dollars. When a dealership is presented with the prospect of gaining or losing 30+ cars, they will definitely give serious consideration to a fair and equitable deal.

Good idea, but don't forget location is a key factor besides good service and discounts - that's why I think it is better if we get more than one dealer for that purpose - I personally will service my car at Acura 2000 for as long as I own it - they know my car very well and I also know the two mechanics that always work on it !!!!!!!!

I imagine that any deal we make will have "set prices" for specific work, like: oil changes
tranny fluid change
timing belt
brakes
etc.

That way you will know what you're paying FIRST and you can talk to the dealer you have been using and check to see if our "preferred" dealer is actually cheaper - if they're not, they simply wont get the business.

Obviously this will only work if when they are at par you take your car there so they see the volume, what I would think we do then is a service report you send the club each time so we know how much we're spending with the dealer as well as how it went. This way we have leverage from both cash spent as well as the ability to have a regular meeting with the serivce guys to point out any issues - now thats power!

Ill get on this again - Ive spoken with Erin Mills once already, and they were keen, but Ive got to call them about a part that is apparently being rowed over from Japan today anyways....
