Jetpilot's Supercharged 91

Cam, you sure do have boost

A supercharger uses a belt that draws power from the crankshaft to spin the whipple which in turn sucks in air, compresses it and force feeds it to combustion chamber (along with increased fuel) to create more power. Your system makes about 6 lbs of boost.

...but enough tech talk, LET'S RACE!!

The wheels I installed are CCW SP16a's in sizes:
front - 18 x 8.5 (215/30R18)
rear - 19 x 10.5 (275/35R19)
- no rubbing at all but I did have to place a 5mm spacer on the rears to clear the stock calipers.

I'm a big fan of less is more and feel this car is perfectly set up. Might add another aftermarket exhaust but that's it.

I absolutely love the wheels. Always have. I just hate the tire stretch.

I too am of the fan of less is more and I was at the exact same stage as you when I realized that after adding really flush 18/19s I hated the fact that the rear body and the sides weren't as flush because the body lines on the '91-'01s came inward too much. That lead me to adding the side skirts and the '02 rear valance... It sort of squares off the bottom part of the car and better matches the flushness of the wheels...

Adding those (and the exhaust) I think will complete "the look" IMO.

Otherwise it's looking great!

John - I really should know that shouldn't I? haha...

I'm actually at a loss as to special considerations for how I maintain it etc. so I'll definitely look it all up.

As for race we'll do it next year after you keep your car and convert it back to street form. Don't sell it!

Cheers! To be honest there isn't that much tire stretch so its quite easy to live with. I'm not a fan of stretched tires so I was pleasantly surprised once the wheels showed up.

Rick - yes this is now #3 after the Imola. I do miss the Imola but this car is half its value and essentially the same thing, actually faster! I'm a Honda whore...I've also been through 2 S2000's....LOL

And to answer other questions asked above:

HP/Drivetrain - 325hp and snap ring transmission - no issues at all...could be one of the lucky few that don't fail?! Knock on wood...

Lbs Pushing - I don't know? I weigh 195lbs and the car is roughly.....kidding. I presume you mean boost but this is a supercharged car so I'm not sure if there is even boost at all? I certainly don't have any guages and as the supercharger is a whipple I presume it spools while accelerating? I'm going to go google superchargers and see how they work

Kumho Tires - Jury is out. They seem okay but not as grippy as I'd like.

Cameron,
You should hope that the snapring fails since it will be the perfect excuse to put in short gears and 4.23 R&P. :biggrin:IMO and experience, the Type-R gears and R&P REALLY transformed my 1994 coupe's city behavior. With your CTSC, it makes the car very much alive on the highway but it does not really help the city traffic. Congrats on such a well kept car from such gentleman.
How long have you owned the car?
Steve

Steve - the first 91 I bought from Viperdriver had the short gears and 4.23 R&P without a S/C and it was a noticeable difference from stock NSX's.

I bought the car August of 2010 and had it in storage until end of July this year when it was sent across Canada so that I could use it for a few weeks this summer. I've since put it away until we return to Canada next year hopefully...

The ride quality is fine. I didn't notice any odd or worse behavior than I've previously experienced with other tires. The only surprise was how rough the Ontario roads are compared to the pristine asphalt we get here in Dubai. Tar strips and pot holes everywhere in Ontario...
