Integrity of 6-speed

I'm on the verge of possibly doing a 6-speed swap on my '93 and would like to get some input.

My primary concern is how well it will hold up to 400+ RWHP (how much "+" is yet to be determined). I do know that the 5-speed is pretty stout, but wasn't sure of the 6-speed's reputation.

I like the 5-speed, but have wanted the 6-speed for its gearing and my familiarity with shifting to 6th (since all of manual transmission cars that I've driven - prior to the NSX - have had 6-speeds).

The car is my "cruiser" and weekend "fun" car, and I don't foresee it doing very much track work.

Please let me know what you think.

I do not feel there is any variance in strength and integrity 5speed vs. 6speed.

I think longevity is determined more by how you use it, either 5 or 6 speed:). If you put race slicks on it and go to the dragstrip, do 4K clutch dumps, well it will not last. If you are good to it and not abuse it, it will last a long time.

HTH,
