Hey guys, after going through some major withdrawls after selling my car, i am looking to get another one. i am looking at a yellow 97 with 40k miles and a salvaged title in the long beach area ( at 7th and terminal for those in the area that are familiar). the seller states the car sideswiped the jeresy wall on the freewway requiring the right side fenders and doors to be replaced. the cars on its face looks to be a good buy IF what the seller says is true. anyways, before i spend the money to fly down to look at it, i was hoping someone in the area could do a pre inspection for me. i'm not looking for a fine tooth comb inspection, just a good drive and look over for any MAJOR flaws. but please feel free to do as intensive inspection as you would like. heres is what i would be looking to know BEFORE i were to fly down. 1) is the paint a VERY good match. 2) does it drive well. 3) does the repair work look to be of quality. 4) were the damaged areas repaired or replaced. 5) what if anything you can find that stands out to you. any help would be appriciated. i'll buy dinner for anyone who looks if i end up coming down to look myself or buy. i have the sellers info for anyone interested in helping out. and of course if anyone knows this cars, please feel free to chime in and let me know what you you.....PM me for the info. thanks in advance. Dave

Arrange to have the seller take it to Cerritos Acura in Cerritos or Autowave in Huntington Beach for an inspection. Given the body damage, it might also be a good idea to have it inspected at San Pedro Auto Body as well.

All three of these shops are within 15 minutes of Long Beach.

+1 take it to cerritos acura to jon martin for ppi.

Cerritos Acrua and Autowave are both great places. Another choice is to have the seller take it to San Pedro Auto Body. It's within walking distance of Terminal Island. They do a lot of NSX work and repaired all the NSX's (when necessary) for Acura when they came off the boat.

I live in Long Beach (Signal Hill) and could check it out for you. PM me and we could possibly work something out.

For a second there, I didn't see the word SALVAGE. Salvaged means that the cost to fix it was more that 85% of the value of the car (at least in my area), so they payed the claim and a wholesaler (or the like) got a hold of it and fixed it. I would call my insurance agent and see if they will even cover a salvage titled car. My insurance guy wouldn't.......
