I bought it and on the way back I killed every late model M series BMW and AMG 55 kompressor-equipped cars.

I didn't run into any twinturbo 65 AMG cars.

Nailed a few ferraris and 911TT and some Audi S series.

Mustangs were cake.

I think the car makes more than 515 to the wheels since the dyno was at 95F temps. At night, on the way back it got cold and 3rd gear I was spinning the wheels.

The shear power is soooo addicting. Grew me a set of huge balls. There is literally nothing on the road that I didn't feel confident.

Sad news:

The car came with 3 rocks chips. After I drove it back on I-5 it now has literally a thousand rock chips. So the insurance will have it painted. Hood, fenders, mirrors, and front bumper.

Yesterday, I was driving and heard a thunk in the tranny area. I quickly stepped on the clutch and put the shifter in neutral. It was still in gear. The GTO is at Pearsons GMC/Pontiac in Sunnyvale and they are charging me $180 to look at it.

I do have a GM 7 year 100k miles bumper to bumper extended warranty with no deduct that will be transferred to me.

I'm worried that they will point at the mods, esp the Maggie and say that is the root of all of my ailments.

The seller told me that this is some dealer up in Nor cal that is cool with Maggied GTo since they install them and was wondering if u know who they might be and/or other cool dealerships.

sounds like fun but...............

Congrats on the new fast and ugly car.

My wife's father has one of these cars and I have to agree it is REALLY but the car handles like crap. In fact the car is way to fast for how poorly it handles. I expect to see a lot of wrecked ones as the prices come down into the area young drivers can afford.

I'm cool with seeing a bunch of wrecked ones, means I can buy em salvage and strip the engine out to put in something that can actually take a corner.

BTW my father-in-laws GTO is stock and I know for a fact it can not beat a SL55 or a S55!!! The only advantage the GTO has over the AMG cars is less expensive rear tires.

Are you implying that my GTO can't deliver?

it's not stock.

Maggie blower, with long tube headers, full exhaust and lingerfelter intake.

Your car is not stock. I know the sl55 and the s55 will smoke the stock GTO because my father in law has a GTO and I have smoked him in my SL55 and my S55. Your car maybe faster because it's not stock but I know the stock GTO isn't faster than the two AMG cars I mentioned.
Don't get me wrong the GTO is a great car but the handling is just not there.

Hey, I got a GOAT to, wanna race

Word is SMOKIN HOT!!!!

My bad, I was thinking it was the intake manifold because I didn't see a pulley right off the bat lol. I was looking for a vortex/paxton instead of a roots style. LoL, long weekend.

OOOOH that is NICE!

I was looking to trade my Accord coupe for a Red 06 / 6-speed (Stock)

I have had to put it on hold for the time being due to baby on the way, but I have little doubt I will get one in the next two years or so.

My buddy has now had 2 GTOs- He had an 06 auto, but replaced it with an 05 6-speed. These cars are a serious kick in the pants, and they sound mean as hell with headers too. The GTO is so underated it is silly. Great fun to drive!
I posted on this before- Beyond Expectations

As far as the handling is concerned- My car will be highway driven, and shined up for fun- I am not looking to go attacking any serious twisties, or tracking it on a road course. I just want to get on the highway in a hurry, and maybe participate in some run what ya brung events at the drag strip to see what it will do.

Your car looks really sharp- congrats, keep us (or at least me) informed on it.

Philip
