i read so many bad things about the new optima batteries (the old ones were great - new ones made in Mexico not so much) i just put in a costco series 35. costs 1/3 as much, figure if the battery water gets too low it will be time to replace it.
the costco battery is a little taller than the optima. it fit, i had to flip the plastic battery case 180 degrees. also the brackets had to change from wing nuts to normal nuts. works great.
