How many NSX's are actually left in the USA?

GOLDNSX, the picture you put up looks like everything but the chassis,, wow,, and the rims with stuff just thrown on the top of them,, I think the SHOP owner should be SHOT, its like that Boyington custom cars guy the worst!! If I had the money I would buy all the INJURED NSX's and repair them. thats would be a dream of mine come true!! if you guys ever see one broken down or being treated like that terrible shop owner, take a pic and post it maybe someone on here could help save an NSX,, "lets all go green",,,,, naaaa "lets all go NSX-ing" and you guys letting your NSX sit in the Garage and ROT,,, drive her she deserves it,, and one more statement,,that we all know and love,,, " YOU CANT TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU DIE " so have fun with it that what its for!! making your life FUN!! there is a guy here in tampa with a red 1992 NSX MINT( showroom Condition) with over 199,000 miles,, it looks like it rolled off a time machine from 1992!! just wash it wax it and drive it,,!!!!

I wonder what the fatigue life is on the aluminum chassis, if any.

According to a Best Motoring episode, the NSX chassis/body was designed to last at least 30 years without degradation. For cars that are not heavily tracked, and thus not subject to more extreme twisting and bending moments, I bet it is even longer.
It would be intersting for a lab to examine the chassis joints of 1991 cars to see if there are any stress cracks after 20 years...

...if driven at all or normal. Garagequeens will have near to none stress at all after 100 years I think.

The USA just lost another one...

From New & Prospective Owners thread by Jstratm "Just got my new 03 NSX... sort of! "

His beatuiful Blue 2003 is headed to Germany.

With the sever weather we had yesterday... I forgot about natural disasters... Florida Hurricanes, New Orleans Flood, other floods, tornado's, etc. A few NSX's must have been affected or they are extremely lucky.

Yea thats why when you buy a new Corvette and drive it home you just lost 20,000 bucks,, depriciates like metal in saltwater, I would say most are Babyboomers and are a dying breed,, Corvettes are for the followers, the Sheep of the american rich!! I would never buy one but if I won a 2009 Z06 in a cereal box contest I might drive it for a few months, then trade it for a 1986 labaron convertible ( red with green suede seats ) would be worth the same speakin in monitary value or trade in value,, with the cash for clunkers thing they got going on!!

That's why u procure a used C6 Z06.

Once it hits the $30K's, the depreciation will taper off and slow down.

How much $$$ do u think it will cost to bring the NSX up to the C6 Z06 in terms of HP and braking power?

No it wont. C5 Z06 buyers said the same thing and they are now going for like $22k. For a low mile 2003. The C6 will plummet when the C7 comes out and people who care only about #s flock to it and dump the C6 like yesterdays garbage.

The Corvette era ended with the C3. They are now all mass produced in quantities that are too high and don't inspire genuinely loyal customers anymore. They're traded in like a Toyota Corolla.

This has already happened with the C5 Z06 and will continue. No one talks about "snapping up" the "great value" C5 Zs because the C6 Zs have already gotten so ridiculously cheap. Same will happen with the C7.

There just isnt enough about the car that is interesting beyond performance #s. So once its "old news" its over.

You are obsessed with looking at this as an absolute and writing off any "soft value" the NSX has. I can ask the question "how much $$$ would it take to bring a Porsche 964, Ferrari 308, or Corvette C3 up to C6 Z06 performance", but it would be a ridiculous and irrelevant point.

If all you care about is being king of the bench racers, then you buy a new Corvette Cx Z06 every new model cycle three years after release once it has dropped to 30% of new MSRP. You rinse repeat forever, join Corvette Forum, and be eternally happy. The question is WHY havent you done that since it seems like a perfect fit????

At this stage, people who remain on NSX Prime and stay interested in the NSX actually *like* the car for what it is. You mod it to make it more modern, personal, whatever. Give it some extra kick (amazing this is still even possible). Its similar to the Supra (which is even more impressive when it comes to bench racing prowess). These are all canceled collectors cars. It's just outright irrational to be endlessly comparing them to the absolute latest production cars as if they should somehow be cross shopped.

There are only 3 cars from Japan that are collector cars.

FD
NSX
MKIV

Each have their attributes that make them unique.

Why didn't I sell the NSX? U are aware of the current economic situation......... right?

If I wanted ur opinion about bench-racing I'll give it to u..........

Well well well,, guys put down the gloves, there are alot of good points on both side and it looks like alot of facts are on the table,, I guess everyone has their car,, and everyone has their worst pick to,, it seems that On NSX prime your will get eatin alive if you dis the NSX or try and compare it to a brand new car,,this car isnt made anymore,, this car is beyond a reasonable doubt an exotic/collectors car,, you gotta love it! and the fact that you could put millions into a corolla and make it eat a Zonda, but the nsx is the best ( hand made )sport production car ever made!!! my 1992 NSX is my daily driver, I also had a 2005 TL and loved it to,, but with all the bells and whistle the TL had,,,driving to and from work was fun,, but with my NSX now ( only had it for 4 months now), is by far my favorite,, while driving to work everyday i see 12-13 corvettes different years and models but I can drive with a smile on my face cuz Im the 1 of 2 NSX in tampa that i know of,, most of the others are in the garage Queens and dont see the light of day( sad but true ) but to see the same car over and over and over again make you think and Know that the corvette is mass produced to the point of "if it wasnt free I wouldnt get one"!! and they stopped making the supra's and look at their value now,, you couldnt get a wrecked supra for under 20 grand, you can get 3 2004 corettes ZO-whatever for 20 grand, its sad but Americans make junk!! Im southern born white man so I know im american!! and I would never buy anything made in the USA cuz i know it will just break on me, so i would have to go buy another one,, the US car companies are greedy to take our money and lazy to make long lasting stuff,, soory just my 2cents

Being a southern born white man doesn't give you any proprietary rights on being an American--but otherwise, a solid post.

To the OP, I also posed the question recently, in another thread, on how many NSX's are left. Purely guessing I would say at most 75% of the orignal 8900 NA run (<6675).
