How low should I lower my car?

if money isn't an object... The Comptech Pro suspension that Andrie used to have might be the way to go. I have TEINs at the moment, I don't like the ride quality as I'm mainly using it on the street these days, but I like the look of the ride height.

Andrie, if there is no advantage switching back to OEM springs, then I'd probably stick with what I have on now. May be the next time I mess with the suspension, I'll put the OEM springs back on.... if you don't think that it is a step backward for me.

Kenji, unfortunately, money is an object. You wouldn't understand, I'm married you see. Love to get the comptech pro but that has to wait. :frown:

Thanks both for your input!

I doubt you will notice any difference if there is any at all. Firstly the rate are too similar. I would have to give the edge on the Eibach a little bit as they have stiffer overall rate.

Bilstein lower perch + H&R= :D <--Happy Track face Did I already mentioned 18/19? Seems crazy, but I like it!!!

Guys, you are buying this particular car for the fun of it. As such, do what ever you like that puts a happy smile on your face. Why are you concern with neg. camber? tire life? Have a good time, and enjoy the ride. Don't worry what others think............satisfy yourself, satisfy your thirst, and satisfy your need. At the end of the day, you are pulling the car in the garage.......... :D

As already stated ride height, ride quailty, and handling characteristics are affected by the choice of suspension packages.

Before I went with the Type R suspension, I discussed this with Chris at SOS and read multiple threads. My conclusions were:

1. More than 0.75" drop leads to increased bump steer.
2. The Teins will give you a "cooler" look but the ride tends to be a bit too bounchy/twitchy(Sp).
3. The Teins' springs rates are not ideally matched for the NSX(see chart below).
4. Honda already did plenty of research when developing the NSX-R. The Type R susp. is more ideally matched for a NSX.

Since I was going to use the car mainly for DE/Wknd fun use, I went with the Type R susp. It scrapes at a couple of places in town, and unfortunately on my driveway. Its way too stiff for DD duties. But, take it on a track and you will NEVER regret your decision.

I love my Type R suspension. I also added the non compliance rear beam and toe links, both front Type R bars, rear chassis brace and front non compliance clamp. The car is amazing on track. It's definately faster than I am. It's now become my daily driver (my Legend sits in the garage). The ride is in fact rough, but because of the improved handling tradeoff, it doesn't really bother me. My wife can't put makeup any more while in the car, but I guess that is a good thing:)

Pooh, call me old fashion ...or just plane old. Not only will 2.375" drop mess up perform on the track, I wouldn't even be able to get into my garage. That wouldn't be fun, would it?

NSXLUVR and Ryneen, I have no doubt that the type R setup is perfect for track use. Not sure if I want anything stiffer than that I have already (Eibach and Bilstein). That's the reason I considered going back to OEM springs.

Ryneen, looks like you are all set for track. I can picture your wife stepping out of the car with makeup on, the first time she rode in your car with the new suspension setup.

I just purchased a set of tein s-tech springs. I don't think, i'll get a complete 1" drop, something like 7/8 but I'm hoping for a little lower look. I was told that these springs were a good match for the nsx for a lower look, without adverse affects. Has anybody tried these springs? I'll be using the springs with stock shocks.

I had H&R with bilstein on low perch and hated it! I switched over to Comptech coilovers and cannot belive what a difference. I love this set up!

I wouldn't want the front end to scrape any more than it already does.

I totally agree. I would not want my car to be any lower given the roads that I drive just to get to work. It scrapes on high speedbumps and driveways even now.

I completed my install of S Tech springs a couple of weeks ago. I am very happy with the finished product. Nice, subtle drop.
