Hey Chris, I will be there for the Barret Jackson action in Jan. does that offer
go for anyone.I will be there 18th-21st.I plan on coming in to the shop.
Chris, Are you using the stock rods? I am oooooh so tempted to bump up to 550 RWHP. I think that drag racing, tranny wrecking, clutch dumps aside, the rods become a concern at or beyond this HP. Is there a consensus of opinion on stock rod max HP? I have only heard of a couple rods ever failing.
Also, has anyone ever lost a low comp build due to HP related mechanical failure as opposed to tuning issues? IE: bearings, rods, etc..
Well we know that the pistons and oiling are the weak links, so for the engine builders out there, Do you think going forged pistons, changing the oil pump gears, and adding head studs is all that should be needed for the 500-550whp arena?
And would the 3.0l or the 3.2l factory block hold up better?
And yes, I am to considering the move to Turbo from HB-CTSC. (The crack pipe is calling my name, and it wont stop)

Hey guys,
Just got in from a loooong weekend of wrenching.
I don't have anymore videos except for those that are on YouTube. Same username as what I am here, Tinker219 so search around!
I am at 3.0 Liters and after nearly 10,000 miles I am still at the same compression(actually slightly higher) than I was directly after my break-in dyno session. Truly amazing engine-work by Jim Elkins!
Cody,
What is an approximate cost for your Jim Elkin's engine build? (No one ever talks about that )
Dave
I have been told $8500 - $13000 or up depending on your tastes
