How can you tell VTEC is working????

That's funny. I thought, when the VTEC kicks in u can feel a certain surge in power. Like a small turbo.

Is there something wrong with my engine???

Hey, i just stumbled upon this thread and saw the question about VTEC. I've never driven an NSX unfortunately (i'm poor for that), but i have done some work on VTEC engines before. In fact i just bought a civic who's vtec wasn't working at first. The timing was too far off for it to work. But when i fixed it i took the intake pipe out of the air box (so there's only a pipe comming out of the intake manifold and not connecting to the air box or filter). This makes it MUCH easier to hear what is going on inside the engine. Removing the filter/airbox should enable you to hear vtec kick in... won't fix anything, but it will tell you if its working or not. Just make sure you don't drive it around too long that way even though it'll sound good as hell...
