Hot Mechanic

haha, get some ramps dude haha, thats just disrespectful to the car haha

I'm not a dude.

Yes, I know this... I was referring to the THREAD STARTER, not you since the thread seemed to imply that it was his car being worked on by the 'hot mechanic'.

(and since you seemed to take offence to the other part for some reason, i was referring to the 'jack-stand' setup / bricks with the 'disrespectful to the car' part, not you... maybe you shouldn't naturally read into everything so negatively)

Shutup! That's all I had and guess what... It worked just fine. Some of these comments make me want to vomit. And who the heck are you to go fishing up my pic AND JUDGE IT?? WTF is wrong with some of you???

By the way, if you have even a touch of a brain in your head, you'd see it's the same background as pic with my dad in the keys.
Why in the world would someone act like it was them working on their car if it wasn't??

I respected quite a few of you but now I must reconsider. Since I've been on this board, I have rarely experienced anything short of respect, until now. It was actually such a great feeling and I really appreciated the community, and appreciated being part of the group. It felt like "home" and I actually considered you friends. I told others how awesome you all were and that you really treated me as another NSX driver. Now this?

However, I am not implying the above to all members on the board. Thankfully, I am still comforted to know there are several "real men" that do exist on this board. Men who were raised with values and learned to respect a woman.

p.s. I've been driving the NSX longer than 99.9% of you
WOW, talk about blowing up for no reason????? I made no mention of you or your gender?? I didnt fish up any pics either?? I thought the thread originator was the person using the bricks with his girlfriend or someone posing under the car for a gag pic?? Give me a break?? I never tried to guess "who's the girl in the pic" b/c I could care less, I have a gorgeous wife and daughter and I have never posted anything like some of these hardlegs. Good for you that you have boobs and can drive and NSX, I still would laugh at you, or my best friend for that matter, for using bricks for jack stands. I was picking on the original poster and had no idea who the girl was, I didnt care who the girl was, the bricks were what was funny to me. I've used stuff like that to work on a car before and I felt silly when I did it. Its like having to wipe your ass with leaves when your stuck in the woods (I am from Mississippi), you do what you got to do, but you dont show everyone pics of it without expecting someone to call you out on it.

Sorry you got you panties all wadded up, its Sat night, go have a drink and calm down.

SNDSOUL, Please don't post pictures of you in the woods. Thanks in advance:biggrin:

Mermaid, I would like to see some pictures of the car completed if you have any.

Sound, wasn't talking to you about fishing up pics and I know you're an awesome guy, based on conversations past and your posts have never been disrespectful. But be nice to the girl, man .... I was just proud of myself for doing the work on the car myself  but I would not start a thread and post my pictures.

Yes, I knew you were referring to the jackstand , etc. Didn't think negatively that you were referring to myself. As I said to SoundSoul, I'm proud that I did the work myself. It felt great, and I hope to learn more. How do you lift your car when you're at your family's house with no lift ? Seriously, I wouldn't mind learning because it was a bit cramped under there.....

that is basically what i use to change the oil, install my exhaust, etc... works perfectly for anything that dosen't involve taking off the tire, in which case i jack the car up and put it on jack stands for safety.

Where can I get a lift like that SNDSOUL? Any scary moments when the car might tilt forward/backward?

Hi Mermaid, did you have to drill the holes to install the lip or did it already come pre-drilled? Way to go on doing the work yourself.

.

That scissor style lift can be found on any Automotive Equipment web site they are extremely stable, however they do not allow complete unhindered access to the underside of the car...but on an NSX there really is nothing in the center of the car that you need to access as it a just a big flat floor pan...for an NSX owner to have at home that lift is just about perfect......Brett would you agree?..

I have two lifts of this style ...but they are not very practical for home use.

Go Mermi!!...that is cool that you installed the spoiler yourself...my wife would never even consider it and she is not even close to "prissy"...Kudos to you!!..If you need a lift and you feel like driving to Seattle I got one you can use anytime (Brett's house is allot closer though)...JZ

Hey there, the front lip I ordered from Dali, and it is pre-drillled for the fitting. He also sells the nuts/clips that go along with it....

IsR Maybe this thread should be in the NSX Technical and Do-It-Yourself section, would an interesting read, don't want to end up having 5 extra nuts....like donwon
lol, that would be an interesting title

And thansx* for the thumbs up on my first install. After seeing Sndsouls' lift!!! (still laughing at the comparison of the little one to that) I think I may invest in something like that if I continue to learn how things work. I love it!!! It's like developing a closer, understanding relationship with my car ;)

A few years back I was using a similar OEM jack on my toyota and the corkscrew stripped and the jack folded like a box  I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes .

ugly mechanic but hell of a cook

Well...me personally, I'm a wood guy, afraid bricks would mess up the underneath or scratch/dent the car up if the jack did fail.

I'd rather it fall on my beautiful face:redface:  LOL:biggrin:

The last pic of the car is very nice btcog. The MH bumper just flow nicely with the MH skirts. Are you planning to turn the headlamp to MH ones. Would look more complete IMO. But this setup is still very very nice.

Re: ugly mechanic but hell of a cook

Thanks:biggrin: , I was going to go to MH lights, but at the last moment I sold them and decided not to. I like the fact the car looks like it should be a "hotwheels" car:tongue: ....hey theres an idea:eek: anyone know someone who knows someone who works for hotwheels:tongue: ?

Here ya go Mermi:wink: ...If this doesn't scream:eek: Key West and the islands, I got some more up my sleeve....

 Chocolate Key Lime Pie:biggrin:

1 tablespoon of plain gelatin
1 cup of sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 eggs separated
1/2 cup Key Lime juice finely strained
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon grated Key Lime peel
1 cup HEAVY cream whipped
1 9-inch baked chocolate graham cracker crust... I just tried it with Oreo crust the last time, it turned out pretty good

Mix the gelatin with only HALF of the sugar, and salt in a sauce pan. Beat the egg yolks in a separate bowl and add the Key Lime juice and water to the egg yolks. Stir the egg yolk mixture into the gelatin mixture saucepan. Cook on LOW HEAT, stirring CONSTANTLY, just until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from the heat and blend in the grated peel. Chill:cool: , blending often, until mixture is thick when dropped by spoon. Beat the egg whites until soft peeks form. Add the remaining sugar and whip until stiff. Fold into the gelatin mixture. Fold in the whipped cream. Pour into the baked graham cracker crust and refrigerate until firm. Serve with a sprinkle of chocolate and garnish with lime slice.
