Hi all, just a quick introduction... I'm Nick a 21 year old lad from the UK and currently drive a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R but am looking to buy an NSX! so hello to all you owners out there!

I'm looking for even more information on the car and have come across this book: HONDA NSX OFFICIAL HARD-BACK BOOK. The NSX: Honda's Super Sports Car. has anyone read it or does anyone own it? If so is it good and what information does it give you. I've been offered one for $250 and thats alot of money for a book so please help!

Many Thanks in advance,

Nick :D

You're referring to this book:

Yes, it's good. It has some Euro-specific stuff, and some owner profiles. As well as some nice color photos. It's pricy due primarily to its rarity. Is it worth $250? How badly do you want it?

I happen to like the two other NSX coffee table books at least as much, because they have more information and photos on the car, rather than extraneous stuff. I'm referring to the NSX sales brochure, the one that looks like this:

and can be found on eBay for $20-50 (or more when it's auctioned for a worthy cause), and the book given to new NSX buyers when the car first came out:

This latter book is the NSX Technical Information and Development History that's been scanned for your perusal here and is also somewhat pricy (typically $100 or so when a copy goes up on eBay).

ken is the best.... no challenging him. ;)

We at nsxprime should make our own NSXprime coffee-table book... using the best photos of our NSX's naturally. ;) ...and excerpts of the best threads & FAQ info.

You know, Neo, I've been wanting to make a coffee table book of NSX photos and some of my own drawings for a while, but adding discussions from these boards is a GREAT idea. I think we should do that, too.

Nick,
First of all, welcome to this forum and this site.

Second, like most I am not sure which book you are talking about.
My quess is your mean the book of which one is currently available on eBay. Look at the link here.

I cannot tell you if this book contains much info but to be honest I have one coming in the mail this week so I will check and let you know. US$ 250.00 is a bit much for it, I paid considerably less for it. Also, the eBay item listed above is still available.
The two books NSXtasy has mentioned are both very useful and contain both beautiful pictures as well as lots of background information. They are both worthwhile and can be found on eBay regularly.
As for buying a NSX yourself, go look at this sight, brows the FAQ, ask questions all you like. There is an enormous amount of knowledge here on the NSX, make use of it. I know I did when I was looking around for a NSX and it helped me a lot.

WOW

WOW now thats what I call an active forum! thanks for all the advice guys I dont really wanna shell out alot for the book as the money could go to my insurance fund (I'm 21 OUCH!). So I'll just try and get hold of the brochures!

Thanks for all the help and advice!

Nick :)

Hi Nick
Yes, this is an active forum. Thanks to all the input from NSX-fans all over the world. There is an LOT of information to be found here, so browse the site, use the search engine and get all the info you need (and often more).
NSX brochures can be found on eBay but I collect them just for my NSX-collection. The information in them doesn't change (much) from year to year. The books mentioned here are probably the best on the NSX.

The best thing you can do at the moment is join the NSXCB, that's the UK NSX group. Do so from the www.nsxcb.co.uk website. The books, although a nice read, aren't going to tell you anything about how much it's going to cost to own a NSX. We recently had a discussion about insurance. One 34 year old is paying £1200, for his.

Also the cost of parts when they go wrong, another discussion shows that when the window thingy breaks, it's going to be £500 from a dealer. There are a few things you need to know to look for when buying a NSX, and the books aren't going to tell you.

Look at the NSXPRIME FAQ, for DIY and maintenance sections, and you'll see the bits that can break.

Have a look in the Europa section of these forums, you may even want to come to our next meeting.

I don't mean to put you off buying one of course. We all love the cars.

Hi Nick

You have a wonderful choice in the next car you want:)
As the guys on the forum have already said welcome onboard.

J14nsx mentioned the NSX group in the UK we have a meeting arranged at Donnington on the 26th April at the Museum.
Not track time I am afraid to say.
There is a few of us at the Palmer Aerodrome on the 24th May for a Trackday:eek:

I am hopefully putting mine on at Oulton on the 23rd April as well as the Eurocar.

There are some links on my site to NSX stuff.
Also look in the Trackday areas for some vids of the days.

Hi Nick,
Just got the book you mentioned. It is very nice and I am definitely happy to have added it to my NSX-library. However, it doesn't seem to be a technical as the NSX History and Development book mentioned above.
For all those who might be interested in the book as well:
The ISBN-nr. is 0-9517751-0-3

Got this one a month ago for $40 on eBay
