Honda annouces intentions for a NSX successor

That looks pretty sexy..

One important text about this picture:

"Voici donc une nouvelle interprétation photoshopée de ce que ne sera certainement pas la NSX 2 car ceci, bien que basé sur une Audi Le Mans Quattro, est moche et sans intérêt, je vous laisse juger."

Translation:

This is a photoshopped interpretation of what will certainly not be the next NSX because even if it is based on the Audi Le Mans Quattro this is a dull and uninteresting design, but I let you juge by yourself...

IMO I consider this as a compliment for the NSX design which seems to be ranked very high...

Sportscartesting.com also had these photos. The article was from 2001 and it stated that Honda was in a race to buid the V10. So I agree with those who feel that the new NSX is closer than later.
The tail end reminds me of the Lotus Elise and the side "gills" are very Saleen S7. It kills me to wait to see what the final version will look like. I just hope it stays as low as the current NSX. I hate what they did to the C6 Vette, although a sharper and edgier car, it looks stubby next to a C5.

Here is one other photo from a European magazine, cant translate it but an interesting photo none the less.

Now this body with a V10 would be nice.
Looks very nice but not to crazy about the front end. It' Looks alot like a Cellica. (I'd hate to be in that new nsx and some $12k cellica parked next to me and it looks just like it)

Very cool news. Glad I decided to check in-- it's been quite a while.

Thoughts/comments on the thread so far:
- NSX is not and will not be a profit center for Honda. It is for the greater glory of the brand and for the trickle down of technology to other cars.
- What ever the price, it will be cheap (and dependable) compared to the competition.
- The V10 block will no doubt spawn suitable engines for use in trucks/SUV's and top-of-the-line Acuras. Just as variations on the K block currently power a variety of cars that vary from high revving to torquey.

Hopes:
- Covered headlights (lights are the target of choice for police LASER).
- $125,000 or less (we are talking 4 years out).
- Enough room for a smallish suitcase, camera bag, and small cooler (beach, here I come).
- AWD.
- Enough room to sit upright!

I could of course be mistaken, but i think what we're seeing with this model is a VERY early version of what eventually became the HSC design. I think this model isn't very pretty compared to the HSC, way too goopy and loose - particularly toward the backend... which unlike most in here, I happen to think was quite cool.

Yes, I too quite liked the rear of the HSC. Barring something with that sort of gusto and style, I'd just as soon have a first generation and save the difference in price for mods.
