The odometer was showing 133896 and I was feeling somewhat reluctant to take it on a 3500mile trip. I started a thread on “Technical and Do- it- yourself” wanting to acquire feedback on preventative measures that should be taken before an extended trip. Larry Bastanza gave me solid advice along with words of encouragement.
Off I went and what a fantastic experience, all the thumbs up and big smiles from diverse drivers made the journey that much more gratifying. During a quick pit stop at a roadside restaurant, I over heard a conversation at the next table; they were all guessing what type of car I was driving. Ferrari, custom Corvette, Lamborghini? I was about to inform them and then thought it was best just to leave them guessing.
By the time I reached N.Y. I had worn the rear tires out “go figure”. There were no 255/40 17 z rated tires available in Niagara Falls and I had to order a set from the Tire Rack. I made the 1375mile-trip back in 18 hours and my high miler performed flawlessly!
I now have an even greater respect and appreciation for my NSX than before the excursion. I would be curious to hear of any one that had covered more miles in less time? Thanks for letting me share my story on the reliability of a high mile NSX.
BYW, I love my NSX!
