Bought a pretty heavily modified NSX (my first NSX after years of salivating over them) about 6 months ago - been lurking for years, and I'm genuinely excited about having a valid reason to join the site now

Just wanted to say hello and thank you guys for being such a tremendous resource for guys like me who are trying to learn the ins and outs of NSX's and NSX ownership. Buying my first NSX was a lot less stressful after countless hours on this site getting an education. You made the process a lot easier than it would have otherwise been. Again, a big Thank You. You guys help newbies in ways you might not imagine.

Here's a couple of recent photos of the car - it was heavily shown up and down the eastern seaboard for a couple of years - accumulated 50+ trophies. I wish I could take credit for the build, but I had nothin' to do with it. I've actually taken more off the car than I've put on it at this point LOL (there were sponsors logos on the windshield and rear window as well as the rear of the car - I've detailed it, put a set of tires on it, and a few minor interior mods so far). Bought it from a guy named Richard Boodoo - from what I understand, anyone who frequents the NOPI or HIN show circuit has probably seen the car. After talkin' to him on the phone for a bit, I drove down to look at it not really knowing what to expect and when he opened his garage I knew right away I was in trouble

The rest, as they say, is history...

Thanks for havin' me, and I look forward to "knowing" all of you...

Couple of more.

Couldn't believe I was actually able to get the license plate I ended up with. Surprising how many people can't figure it out.

You guys'll have no problem

Welcome and congrats on the beautiful car. I've always admired this car. I'm glad you've removed some of the over the top stickers...especially the "Kickassgetsome". You should come to the 24hrs of Sebring next month.http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99433 Your car was there last year and got lots of attention. Here is my personal favorite pic of your car. I think I can see the car in there somewhere...

Thanks much for telling me about Sebring - I'm gonna see if I can arrange my schedule so I can make it. Are you someone I can also talk to about NSXCA membership? I'd like to find out about the Florida chapter at some point.

I like your favorite picture of my car a bunch. Took me a minute to find the car

Here's the Florida Chapter of the NSXCA website:
www.nsxflorida.com
There are links to join the NSXCA and our Chapter President, Wei-Shen Chin, can answer any questions or I'll try my best.

Welcome and Congrats on your purchase. I think your car looks great. I am not a huge fan of stickers either, unless some sponsor is giving you free parts or something to make it worthwhile.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the jungle we've got fun and games!

Congrats and welcome. Those are killer wheels, and compliments the yellow very well. What wheels are they?

Cool. Thanks. I'll check it out later tonight. Do you guys (the FL chapter) get together on a fairly regular basis (monthly, quarterly, etc.)?

Appreciate the compliment. I kinda like the boy racer look of the sponsors logos on the doors and side skirts - suits the attitude of this car (the whole Fast & Furious / mega Tuner thing). The rest of 'em (windshield, back window, etc.) were a bit much for me, so they were gone within 24 hours of me gettin' the thing in my garage LOL.

Apparently this thing was pretty heavily sponsored (Science of Speed, PPG, etc.) - I think that contributed heavily to the fact that so freakin' much money was spent on the thing - he could've very easily bought another clean mid 90's NSX for what was spent on the car in the process of customizing it.

The only reason I got my hands on it was because he's gettin' ready to do a "new" NSX to the same degree as this one whenever Acura decides to introduce the next-gen NSX. I guess it was originally supposed to be later this year, then pushed out to '09, and now I'm hearing 2010. Be interesting to see where they go with it. They got the original NSX so very right they set the bar awfully high for themselves.

Was this Cybernation Motorsports' NSX?

No idea. Don't think so though.

Maybe someone else here can tell us. Found this toolin' around the web:

They're Rays / Volks Racing GT-7s (google Volks Racing GT series). They're 3 piece wheels - the centers were removed and powder coated to match the car, then the face of the spokes were airbrushed to match all the Carbon Fiber stuff. Whoever did the airbrushing did a heck of a job. I wouldn't have thought to do them that way, but I kinda like 'em too

That car was all over NJ, even as an NSX owner..I never paid much attention to it. Way to much going on. I'd de-rice that thing but otherwise very hot:biggrin:

Grats and welcome to Prime! I've seen that car in different photos over the years. Pretty slick.

Welcome,I too have seen the car up close at xpo 06.It pushes the limits of street/show/rice,but I gotta ask what kind of crazy attention do you get driving that.I mean on the street that thing screams ; race me/follow me/run me off the road gawking.

Sounds right - Richard was from Maryland before he ended up in FL. I noticed a bunch of the trophies were from that part of the country.

I don't know how you did it - love it or hate it, it's kinda hard not to pay attention to it LOL. I'm good with it - as they say in Hollywood, it doesn't matter what they're sayin' as long as they're talkin' about ya

Gotta admit - it had an awful lot goin' on visually. I've tried to tone it down a little (as if you could tone down a Lamborghini yellow NSX with a wing) by gettin' rid of the windshield decals and all the other stuff that I thought pushed it way over the top (URL on the back of the car, his name on the door, etc.) It really looks reasonably sane now for what it is. I think it looks way better in person than in any of the photos I've seen. I may screw around with a second set of wheels at some point - I'm thinkin' either dark hyper silver or black would look pretty cool and be a bit more subdued than the yellow trimmed wheels, although I don't think subdued is an adjective that will ever apply to this particular car no matter what I do. Which is why I got it

It's a bunch of fun - no such thing as low profile in this puppy. You guys have probably all experienced the same thing - a lotta thumbs ups, "Whoa! badass car dude!", and the occasional blank stare with a "WTF is that?" look on their face, which I particularly enjoy LOL. My favorites are the sincere "Wow. Nicely done.", and the apparent compulsion certain young ladies have to spontaneously show guys who drive cars like this what's under their shirts.

What's surprised me so far is the reaction from law enforcement. It might be because I'm not a kid and/or I don't drive like a maniac (well, most of the time), but they've most often pulled up next to me and given me a thumbs up or a nod before movin' on. Expected a bit more random and unprovoked harassment to be honest. I mean really - the car looks like if it's not doing something illegal now, it will be any minute LOL

You definitely wouldn't wanna be an introvert and own this thing. Although I imagine every NSX gets more than its share of attention. This one just evokes a little more extreme response from some people.
