NEVER WIRE MONEY. I wired money for a red NSX and the guy said I was a scammer and kept the money.

I'm not too crazy about the wheels, custom interior, or extra gadgets. But as long as the car is accident free and well maintained, those other things can be removed. Has any one seen this car in person or know its history?

Per this thread, http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/176569-Nc-Greensboro-Charlotte-acura-dealership, post #6, user kprsx highly recommends Hendrick Acura for maintenance purposes as there is an NSX specialist mechanic that works there named Eddie with many years of experience. Perhaps input from this mechanic could give you peace of mind of the condition of this car as well. Or you could message krpsx for his input on this mechanic. Just a thought, as I happened to run across that thread just today before I saw yours. Hope it all works out for you!
A big Thank You to Michael!! (MC36), who checked this car out for me, and gave me such a detailed report. I'm flying out to Charlotte tomorrow to pick her up, and Eddie will be doing the timing belt and water pump before I take her home. I have a nose mask and 3 rolls of racer's tape packed -- I don't think the nose mask will fit over the WW front lip, so the tape is my backup, LOL.
Tom- Glad that I could help. You have a great car that will need your attention to detail to bring her back to her glory. Sorry I can't be here to meet you Thursday. Eddie will take good care of you and you will have a very fun trip back to Houston. Document your trip back on here it will be cool to see the journey! A spa yellow car will attack much attention especially from the PO-PO. Watch yourself. You may have him change out the wiper blades before you go just in case you hit rain on the way back, I'm not sure that they have ever been used and with the time they could fly right off if you are not careful. Also pick up a can of run flat because there is no jack and no spare! Can they ship the claim shell back to you? There may not be any room to take it back.

Hi Michael, hope all is well. I made it home this afternoon, and she is safe and sound now.
Wished I could have met you in person. I did remember to get 2 cans of fix-a-flat at the Walmart on E. Independence on my way home, which luckily I didn't have to use. Eddie did the full timing belt and water pump service on Thursday, and I showed up early Friday morning to take her home. I was on a pretty tight schedule, so didn't have time for a daily journal, like some of the ones I've read here on prime, but I will summarize some of the more "interesting" highlights of my trip from Charlotte back home in another post.- - - Updated - - -
So... it began on Wed. 2/26 when I flew in to Charlotte, NC to pickup this NSX. Alex, from Hendrick Acura, picked me up at the airport and took me to the dealer. The car was in front of the dealer, all prep and ready, and when I saw her.... it was like love at first sight, lol. I've seen NSX's here in Houston before, but this was different -- because this time it was mine
After finalizing the deal, I arranged for Eddie, the NSX master tech at Hendrick to do the timing belt service the next day.Early morning Thur. 2/27 I showed up at the dealer to watch and wait on the timing belt service. I wanted to see what a 14 year old timing belt and water pump looked like. I was told the day before that the service would take 6 to 7 hours, but I was going to wait because I didn't have anywhere else to go in Charlotte. Then Alex informed me there was a problem -- uh oh.... He told me they had to order some special wheel lock to take off the tires, which was going to take a few hours. I didn't know why the tires had to be removed to do a timing belt, but luckily I remembered there were 2 lug nuts in the black Acura case when I was reading through the manual last night. So, Alex said, yup that's what they needed, so I drove back to the hotel to grab the wheel lock so Eddie could continue. After hanging around the dealer for a couple of hours and periodically checking on my baby, I drove around the area looking for something to eat. Googled for Pho, and what do you know Charlotte has Pho, lolz. Not quite as good as Houston, but not bad, not bad at all.
After a couple of hours, drove back to the dealer to see how things were. Alex brought out the timing belt and water pump for me to see and keep, and he said the car would be ready in a couple of hours. But I asked them to keep the car at the dealer overnight, and I would pick her up Friday morning, 'cuz I didn't want to leave her overnight in the hotel parking lot.- - - Updated - - -
Friday morning 2/28, the plan was simple -- go pickup the car, put the bra that I bought earlier in the week on, drive to Savannah, rest a little bit, and make it to Jacksonville by 6 or 7 in the evening. But.... as always the case, things don't always workout like you plan, lols =)
9 am got to the dealer.
9:30 Alex arrived and brought out the car. I went through my check list. Ask Alex for the wheel locks back. Alex went to find Eddie to ask where it was.
10 am Alex handed me the keys and said our goodbyes. I took out the bra and try putting it on for the very 1st time, lol. After 20 mins or so, came to the conclusion the bra wasn't going to fit over that WW front lip, so ditched that plan. Went to my backup plan -- 3 rolls of 20 yards each of yellow racer's tape. Found out 3 rolls were not enough
....needed at least 3 more rolls. One of the salesman there told me I could get some blue painter's tape at the Home Depot, so I left the dealer and went to the nearest Home Depot.10:30 or so, found the Home Depot and bought a 4" by 90 yards of painter's tape and continued to tape it outside the Home Depot parking lot. A couple people came up and asked what kind of a car it was? One lady asked if it was the new Corvette, LOL
I said it was a Honda -- I think she didn't believe me. Couple of guys knew what it was. I didn't finish taping until about 12:30 pm, I was 3 and a half hours behind schedule.- - - Updated - - -
So 12:30 pm, and still haven't left Charlotte yet. Grab something to eat on the way, and I was off to Savannah, GA. I turned off all the radio and electronics because I didn't want to risk the battery dying on me or something. What I noticed a few times was... as I approached someone from behind they would notice me from their rear mirror... and then would slowed down (even on the outer speed lane), so I had to also slow down -- but a few times they almost went off the road because they kept looking up at the rear view mirror. Made it to Savannah 4 hours later than originally planned. And still had to get to Jacksonville because I already booked a hotel there. The original plan was to get there around 6 or 7 pm when there's still sunlight, because I didn't want to be looking for streets in unfamiliar places at night. When I left Savannah at 7 pm, it was getting dark already so I knew I wouldn't get to Jacksonville until 11 or 11:30 pm. On the way to Jacksonville, I realized my phone, which I was using Google map for navigation, was running low on battery. I brought along a car charger for the phone, but guess what? This car has no lighter plug for the car charger.... CRAP!!; it was removed to install the custom radio. Luckily, I had made paper printouts of the directions as well. But the feeling of your phone dying, and losing gps navigation at night is not a good feeling. Needless to say I made it to Jacksonville around 11:30 ish, 4 and a half hours later than planned.

Sat. 3/1 ...once I got to Jacksonville and got to I-10, the rest of the trip to Houston was a piece of cake -- no longer needed google maps
After a few days with the car, and getting used to it. I started to go over 80 on some stretch of I-10 ...this car is a dream, it is stable and solid at 100 easy. By the time I got to Pensacola, I felt more comfortable with the car to turn on the custom audio and stuff, lols. The rest of the trip included a stay over at a casino in Lake Charles, LA ...and some non-auto fun
...what I discovered on this trip was racer's tape is fabulous. Not a single peel over the entire trip. Painter's tape peeled off after a few hours on the highway, and after it gets wet overnight. I had to re-tape the painter's tape each morning before leaving. Here are some pictures of her finally at home.

Just realized something looking at these pictures.... if I saw that coming up from behind me in my rear view mirror, I would take a double look too -- that's hideous, lol.
